Well, my wife has been huddled in a corner for the past few days trying to wake up from the nightmare that Krogers new coupon policy is. If you are in the Houston/LA region, April 13th is the last day Kroger will be doubling or tripling coupons.
I would like to say to all you Houston Kroger shoppers, WELCOME TO WALMART!! The prices are lower consistently, unit prices are lower, Walmart price matches MEGA EVENT prices and $10/10, plus the updated coupon policy is for the most part working out well. So come on over to the dark side!
That is the first I’ve heard of that. I am going to be huddled in the corner, too. Bad news for me!!!
I think most of stores won’t do price match for food.
I really don’t like kroger’s new coupon policy.
Sitting here feeling like I was just dumped by my boyfriend…goodbye Kroger, hello Wal-Mart and Target! :0(
Now thats funny!
I’ve always said “I do my non-coupon shopping at Walmart”. I guess it will now be my all around everyday shopping.
“..the dark side.”–hee hee :)!!!
I was so happy and decided to check tiffany’s page before going to bed, well guess what I’m sleepless I an’t believe this but after all the loose they’ll be having I hope they decided to implemented back again 🙁 in the mean time Hi Paul and Walmart!!!!!
COuld explain me how can I price match the mega event price because I was under the impression that they don’t price match is you must buy a certain amount in order to get certain price..
I was telling my hubby the only ones that are going to be happy about this change in Kroger’s coupon policy (affecting Houston SO FAR, but sure to spread to other regions unless they come to their senses) is Walmart and HEB. HEB and Walmart are LOVING this news. But as a Kroger shopper, someone who loves my Kroger store, the staff, the double/triples, the great Mega Sales, and virtually trouble-free checkouts — I’m heartbroken. 🙁
I am so disappointed about Kroger’s coupon change. I mean, doubling and tripling coupons is WHY I have been a loyal shopper there for many years! Walmart is smart for changing their coupon policy. They are going to get all the customers/couponers from Kroger!!
I hope our Kroger doesn’t start this. I’ll stop couponing all together. No other store around dbls. As far as Walmart’s prices being lower..I don’t agree. At least not ours. For example the Ken’s dressing you posted the other day was over $3 at our Walmart!! Went to Kroger and it was less than $2.. Idk, maybe its just our stores and not regional. I’ve noticed a lot of price differences at our stores compared to what you post.
I agree Lisa. Our Walmart prices are hardly comparable to the ones posted on this site. Kroger is consistantly a better bargain for me. Waiting to see what happens when/if the new policy how my shopping is effected. Had heard about this until now.
only plus…it will make shopping trips easier since I will only be shopping at one store from here on out.
I feel like Kroger just gave me away. Good Bye Kroger and Hello Wal-mart.
Well Paul YOUR UP, PLEASE help us save at The Mart.
Thank you for all that you do.
My area Kroger’s recently stopped stacking coupons (ecoupons/manufacture paper coupons), I hope they aren’t going to stop doubling/tripling coupons too. Kroger has been my favorite place to shop since I started using coupons. With out the doubling/tripling & stacking I’ll be shopping more at the other stores that have lower prices (Walmart & Target).
Please check out the link to this site. It states the company policy as of 3/23/11. From the look of things at this time – I think that the Texas store is alone. Lets hope that they don’t all follow suit. There is also a link from their page to an article about the Texas store that is no longer doubling or tripling.
Whew…does it look like it’s just the one Texas store? I’m in Texas too but not Houston. Ohhh…I hope so.
No it is the entire Houston area
It is the entire Houston area and surrounding cities within 50 miles.
Do have the link for the new Kroger/Houston coupon policy?
Thanks!
They do not at this point, it is still being worked on. This was announced to my wife at a blogging event earlier this week by Kroger. They were given the talking points for this that night and told a letter would go out to all Kroger customers within the area that is affected.
Kroger’s is ruining my life
I shop at Kroger and this has really hit me hard my friends and I are going to learn how to use Wal-Mart and price matching to our benefiet! We are going to start following you and so far we are loving all the deals!
Thank You so much!
I asked my Atlanta area Kroger about this today, and she told me it’s coming our way soon! Boo-hoo 🙁
Kroger is trying to go all digital. That sucks!
I wonder if it will be affecting Friendswood/Galveston areas? I called my local kroger and they hadn’t heard anything about it?
I LOVE Kroger and if the Alvin, Tx. store is included (i’m sure it will be) then I too will have to start shopping at WalMart. It was just great getting those fuel points (which are tallied before coupons ‘at least at my store’) since in this area Kroger had the cheapest gas. This is so sad… I wonder if they will reconsider? Maybe if they lose enough sales…
