Walmart has made a few changes to the Walmart Price Match Guarantee as of 11/10/15. I don’t think it is anything to worry about, in fact most of it hasn’t changed they just put it in writing. The main differences that I see are:
- We reserve the right to limit quantities to one-per-customer, per item, per day**
- We will match Walmart.com prices for in-store purchases
- The Store manager has the final decision on any Price Match.
Be prepared for this Black Friday/ Cyber Monday weekend that Walmart.com will not price match items on Walmart.com or to other retailers between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday.
What do you think of the changes?

Price Match at a Walmart store:

- Our customers must inform the associate of the price and retailer (local and online)
- We reserve the right to verify the price and the availability of the identical item (i.e. size, model, quantity, brand, color)
- The item must be currently in-stock at the online retailer’s website* at the time the Price Match is requested
- We reserve the right to limit quantities to one-per-customer, per item, per day**
- We will match Walmart.com prices for in-store purchases
- The Store manager has the final decision on any Price Match
- Online Prices will not be matched in Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico for in store purchases
Walmart.com Price Match:
- Walmart.com will match the price of select online retailers
- The above conditions for matching prices at a Walmart store also apply to Walmart.com transactions

All I can say is when store policies start having that many disclaimers and requirements I lose interest. Who’s going to buy something expecting a price match when, bottom line, the store can, at it’s whim, refuse to match the price?
Baiano Rey says
The personnel at Walmart stores (#3572) 10505 Broadway, Pearland, TX & (#872) 1919 N. Main, Pearland, are not properly trained to follow the price match policy as stated. Example: they insist an identical pound of boneless skinless tilapia filets are not the same as 16 oz. of boneless skinless tilapia filets. Example: They do not want to honor the policy of matching competitor’s coupons. Several times they want to impose their own interpretations rather than simply applying the policy as stated online. I’ve had this problem numerous times and I’ve tried to speak with the store mgrs. and I’ve always been told that they’re unavailable. I’ve called the natl. 800 numbers and never been able to speak to someone with authority to rationally deal with this issue. I go those stores because they are closest, but I’ve gone to other stores further away and I’ve never encountered this issue. How can the insulated management be contacted to bring this matter to their attention so that they end an issue which on the face appears to be “false advertising”.

Baiano, per the policy it does say the final decision is left up to the store managers and they can choose to allow or deny certain price matches. I am sorry you’ve been having so many issues. A store may choose to enforce things differently because of past incidents which is not your fault but they may need to allow or deny price matching based on that as well. I would try a different time of day perhaps or prepare for travelling a bit out of the way to a new Walmart location.
