  1. Am I missing something? I went on to the Sunday coupon insert preview website, and did not see anything for the Dr. Pepper coupon in the upcoming inserts?

    • My local Walmart will not take a coupon for a free product printed from the computer. They only accept manufacturers coupon’s for free products.

      • That is how all the Wal-Mart’s are that I’ve shopped at. No free products off of the internet, but you can use the manufacturer’s one.

      • Let me add it was the store in Commack, ny they said they would owe me money and Walmart doesn’t do that. I said keep the money there reply I was loosing money. I said I was loosing by not getting the razors and the CS woman & store manager let me walk out.

        • Debbie, I’m a cashier at Wal-mart and our new policy DOES state that we are to give customers the overage in cash. You need to call 1800Walmart and tell them specifically which store it was that you encountered this problem. Also, you’d be better prepared to prove your point if you have with you a printed copy of our coupon policy. “If coupon value exceeds the price of the item, the excess may be given to the customer as cash or applied toward the basket purchase.” Coupon training for individual stores is spotty at best, and sometimes I’ve even had to train them when I am just “shopping” myself.

I was at my local walmart in MO and I had my coupons for overage.. and the cashier at first said she didnt know if she could take them because they would give me overage… I didnt say anything, she kept scanning my items. Then stopped a CSM and asked. the CSM said if they scan take them… the cashier scanned 1 coupon and said, “welp, the store is losing money on this one”… scanned another one and repeated the same thing.. At that point I said. “The store gets their money back for it so dont you worry.”…LOL I love couponing. All of my coupon were correct and I saved 80.00!!!

    • just looked at the packs of schick disposable razors I got and inside is a $3.00 off schick st2 or slim twin 12ct…so keep your eyes open for them!!!

      • In the Schick razors there are a $3 off coupon plus at my store in Eastland,Tx. there is also a $3.oo off on front of package.So this makes that you get back .03 cents for every package you get. I have bought 8 pkgs in the last week or so.

  11. my walmart just restocked the razors!! and I love the Dr. Pepper 10, not a big fan of diet Dr. Pepper but this tastes like the real thing! I better get these coupons, mad from last week… I didn’t get any nievia lip balm coupons and I love that stuff!

  12. I get a Smart Source in the mail …. and no Schick or Dr. Pepper. I live in Madison, IN and have access to Louisville and Indianapolis papers. I think the SS I got in the mail was Louisville, so I will check out the Indpls paper before I buy one. Maybe your readers that are bummed about not getting the ads they want can check papers from different regions that are sold in their towns too. It worked for me with the Revlon ads 2 weeks ago….. TY, Paul for all you do! I live 2 blocks from The Mart, so your blog has helped to create a permanent path from my house to their front doors!

  13. MY LOCAL ADVERTISEMENT HAD TWO COUPON INSERTS IN IT TODAY! I LIVE IN THE EASTVALE AREA IN CA. I GOT A SMARTSOURCE AND REDPLUM. THE SMARTSOURCE INSERT HAS THE 2.00 OFF COUPON FOR THE SCHICK RAZORS.

  14. All Wal-Marts in my area have been out of the schick since the $6 coupon as well… Frustrating!! I still haven’t ben able to use them. Two of the stores have even taken the spot away for the razors, much like they did for the advil pocket packs! Anyone else see this? Paul, did you receive my email asking your opinion of this since you’re in the same area?

  15. I am in MI. And I was able to use one of my $6.00 coupons but since then they have been out and now the tag for them are missing. I also can’t find the Robitussin to go. And I received a catilina coupon for a free 2 litre of Dr. Pepper ten at Kroger a week ago and really liked it, so I’m hoping to get one tomorrow.

  17. All of the Wal Marts in the Panama City, florida area have not had any razors since the $6 coupon, either. They never got any of the special scrubbing bubbles packages, and when the $1 Dawn coupon was out, they NEVER restocked the trial packs. I just spotted the trial packs back yesterday! What is Wal Mart doing? They NEVER run out of (non-coupon) items for weeks, sometimes months at at time! Don’t they realize they are losing sales?

    • I had to ask a stock guy for the special scrubbing bubbles packs. I had checked twice in the week and never saw them, but I got 4 this past Sat from bac in the warehouse. I have yet to see the Robitussin to Go, and here’s still hoping for the Schick razors I had replied about too!!

  20. Help!! I just went to Walmart an they didn’t want to take the coupon for the Shick razor 2/$6.00 off..the manager said it had to match the picture..I know that’s not true..what can I do… also she said because its a 6.00 off an can’t do that for razors that cost 1.97

        • The Fort Smith, AR Zero Street Wal-Mart has been doing the same thing. I went in last week and picked up a lot of the under dollar & price match deals and a customer service manager spotted our coupons and opened a closed lane for us.

          She then made us put all of our coupons with each item to do as we go (rather than deducting them all at once from the final subtotal). When she got to the Philly Cream Cheese, she REFUSED to take it because it was for the four count mini tubs. I explained that the coupon said ANY and she said it didn’t matter, it had to match the picture. She also said this policy was her store managers and that they were cracking down on couponers. She said she could call over her CSM, but that it wouldn’t help, because it didn’t match the picture. I had her do that and the CSM said, did you try to take it? She said no and, of course, when she did, it went through.

          On every single price match, she also would pull out a H U G E stack of competitor ads and thumb through SLOWLY looking for the match, violating the spirit of the recent Wal-Mart corporate commercial saying no ad was necessary to price match. Again, she actually said it didn’t matter what the corporate commercial said, her manager was requiring this.

          She actually added that she hated that commercial too! LOL

          I should also tell you that my mother went to the same store a few days ago and got TWO, just TWO of the scrubbing bubbles toilet deals ($3.97 w/a $4.00 MQ) and a couple of the Fiji Old Spice body washes. The cashier had to call over a CSM because she lost one of her coupons and the CSM went on a rant about all these couponers clearing shelves and how she hated them. I couldn’t believe it! They’re getting paid, PLUS 8 cents! My 68 year old mother didn’t deserve to have to listen to that rant for shopping at their store and having a cashier lose her coupon in the shuffle.

          I was thinking about passing this info along to 1-800-Walmart, but I didn’t know if they’ve put pressure on their managers to do these things in spite of the price match commercial they’re running & the coupon friendly policy on their website.

          • Honestly JC, that is why it is there. There is no reason for a store employee to treat a customer like that. I don’t care what their personal feelings are about coupons, couponers or anyhting else for that matter. Follow the company guidelines that employs you, how would they feel if Walmart jsut decided to not honor their pay wage and the reason was “we don’t care what we told you this is just the amount we decided to pay you. Because if you think about it is exactly the same thing. We shop there based on an agreement that they advertised A, B & C and that is why we decided to shop there. okay enough of my rant. call 1800 walmart.

          • New at using coupons and I had a similar experience at Wal-Mart on zero in Fort Smith. Makes me wanna cashier profile and decide if I want to shop or not. JC, please report them. I plan to if I have any future problems.

          • @ Melissa… I absolutely cashier profile now and even fess up when the cashier is super great! If one cashier won’t take a “legal” coupon I’ll wait a day or two and go back and try another. I’ve left stuff sitting there because I got so upset with the whole scrutinizing coupons things. I went to one Walmart in town and was hassled and embarrassed in line and finally (for the first time) called 1800walmart. Then I went 5 minutes across town to the other Walmart and they accepted all of my coupons no questions asked! DEFINITELY profile! It is most definitely worth your while to do so.

    • ask why he cares as long as it is for the correct product, the coupon says ANY and he gets reimbursed for the whole amount plus shipping and handling.

  25. I went to Walmart for these deals but didn’t get either. They were totally out of stock of the razors, and they only had the 12-packs of Dr. Pepper 10. But no worries, I got plenty of other good deals. 🙂 My insert actually said to go to Food Lion (which I never do anymore) for the Dr. Pepper, and this time I listened and they had it!

  26. I got 10 SS inserts, and only TWO of them had the Dr. Pepper coupon. So if you really want that Q, I suggest that you go through the insert before you buy the paper. It should be on the last page.

  28. JC, you should report the nasty remarks made by that CSM to Walmart. They actually have a complaint form you can pick up at customer service or automotive.

    I used the $6.00 Schick coupons with no problem at our local Walmart.
    I did have a problem this week using the P&G BOGO.
    I had a free product coupon for Suave Professionals that I won on the Internet game so I was using that one to purchase the first item (whereas many stores treat that as a “cash purchase” for the item, then tried to stack the BOGO with it. Walmart wouldn’t do that.
    So I took one item off but the Cashier forgot to take it off the receipt. When I saw the amount was wrong, she insisted it was correct so I had to go to Customer Service to get my money back.

    Before that I had gone to Dollar General where they are still discriminating against EBT customers on the $5.00 off the entire purchase coupon (They take the $5 off your EBT charges automatically, where as the $5 comes off both food and merchandise for non-EBT customers. The USDA policy states this is discrimination, that EBT customers should have a choice as to whether the $5 comes off of food or general merchandise.

    Anyway as usual, Dollar General has problems with coupons. And there the woman who has been working there for ages thought she had to go by the picture on the coupon. I told her, no you go by what it states on the coupon.
    When a coupon didn’t ring up, (and it was from an insert) she tried to tell me the coupon was no good. Now she should know by now that sometimes those “computer scanners” don’t always read properly and you have to manually put in the UPC. She has been a cashier for too long not to understand basics of her job.

    So that was all very frustrating. I have a bad back and a bad hip so having to spend an additional hour in total and these stores trying to fix “issues” did not make me a happy camper.

    My impression is this: If the cashiers don’t understand coupons and how to work their cash register, then either does their manager, and the manager above them etc etc.

  29. I am so bummed!!! There were no Dr Pepper coupons in my inserts. And I went to my walmart today to get my free razors and free dog food, and couldn’t get those either. The spot for the razors was empty (and has been for a few days, I’ve been checking) and I could not find the small bags of Purina One. Anyone know where they usually are? I’m new-ish to this couponing thing and I’m getting very discouraged!! Not to mention that half of the newspapers I bought were missing the SS insert!!!

  30. I am through with shopping at Walmart until they change how they treat their customers here.

    First, they refuse to allow me to use coupons on Price matched items. Second, they refused to accept my $6 coupons for the Schick Razors because the CSM says that does not apply to the value packs, even though the coupon clearly says ANY except the 2 packs. She also treats me like an imbecile.

    Then the whole misleading ad with the promotional One Step business. The ad was not clear that it was for a promotional item only. I felt they should have matched their own ad price since the regular packages were the same size and met the wording of the ad. I went to Target and they PM them no problem and took my coupons as well.

  33. I have the Dr. Pepper 10 coupons but haven’t been able to find it actually IN the store. The razor deal.. SUPERB. I had 9 coupons, went and picked up my 9 packs and took them home. No problems getting them. I happened to be paying attention for once when I was stacking them in my razor bin and noticed there was a coupon inside it. Opened it up and its a coupons for.. drum roll please… $3 off the same razor. So.. I opened them all up, got another 9 coupons for them and got 9 more with $1.03 in overrage! Now that’s the deal of the month for me. ;P Another 9 packs sitting here with 9 more coupons for $3 off. I’ll be heading back tomorrow to snag those suckers too! With a teenage daughter, three teenage sons and a husband that likes to shave his head.. this is a thriller deal for me. 🙂 TY for the lead to get them in the first place!

    • Carol…I have done the same thing several times now. The $1.03 overage on 10 packs paid for all the ground beef I bought. I love these kinds of deals. I believe my WM must restock these every night because they always have them. I’ve been lucky so far. Woot!!!

  34. Yesterday i went ro my local walmart to use my razor coupons. I preordered my items so i know i would have them. When i was ready to check out the sales manager came up to me and i told me i was unable to use my razor coupons because they were not getting their money back for that coupon. So i decided i wanted to talk to a manager. The assistant manager had called the head manager while he was in a meeting and he said that he said they werent able to take that coupon because they werent getting the money back for that coupon address. Though he did not let any other sales representative know but the single ONE sales manager. I was unaware of this and so were the cashiers so i called corperate and i am now waiting on them to give me a call back. My local walmart is in lake jackson Texas and if i would have known this before i made my order of 100 razors 20 icy hots and bengays i would have not even made the order and waisted 2 weeks of that womans time. BUMMER!

    • This is an urban legend. 70 percent of all printable coupons go to the same address I think it is 1 Fawcett Dr. What happens is that people photocopy coupons and those do not get honored or someone made a coupon with that address and now they thik it is the address and it is not. They had that exact coupon on their own wensite to print.

  36. If you buy enough items at walmart, then the cashier doesn’t really know what is free and what is couponed. I often am asked to show the item, but then they just take it off anyway. I never go to zero money, it isn’t worth the hassle.
