Starting TODAY, Walmart will be honoring it’s Christmas Price Match Guarantee for online customers. They will also be lowering prices on popular toys and electronics, to match select Black Friday offers from Target, Toys R’ Us and Best Buy one week early. You can read more HERE. This doesn’t mean they are allowing you to ad match Black Friday Prices one week early. It means they will be lowering the prices that some of their competitors are offering to match their Black Friday Prices 1 week before the sale starts!!!
WOW!!: _ Read Below!!
Customers who purchase an item on Walmart.com, and find a lower price in a local brick and mortar competitor, can email christmasadmatch@walmart.com and receive the difference on a gift card. The same policy is in place for customers at Walmart stores for items purchased Nov. 1 through Dec. 24, excluding Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.
Here are some examples:
- LeapPad 2 – WAS: $79, NEW PRICE: $39.99
- Little Tikes Cozy Coupe – WAS: $49.87, NEW PRICE: $34.99
- Nerf Rebelle Crossbow – WAS: $19.88, NEW PRICE: $11.99
- Monopoly Board Game – WAS: $7.77, NEW PRICE: $5
- Hot Wheels Single Car – WAS: .97 cents, NEW PRICE: .60 cents
Electronics:
- LG 50-inch HDTV – WAS: $598, NEW PRICE: $448
- Skylanders and Infinity Starter Packs – WAS: $74.96, NEW PRICE: $37
- Select PS4 and Xbox One Video Games such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, NBA 2K14 and Battlefield 4 – WAS: $59.96, NEW PRICE: $49
Basically, they are price matching regular ads, and dropping the prices lower then everyone else and expecting that you won’t even have to price match. You will need to email, to get the difference back in items Black Friday and Thanksgiving Day IF YOU PURCHASE SOMETHING ONLINE.
Because they do say this: Christmas Ad Match applies to in-store prices only and excludes Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday ads.
Thank You Walmart, PrettyFrugalDiva
Will the drop in prices be in store, online, or both? When can we expect to see the changes because their online prices have not changed yet?
Found this answer on Marketwatch – At 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, Walmart will kick off a pre-Black Friday savings event in stores and online
I am so confused by this. Can you please help clarify this for me?
On another site they stated “Walmart is turning up the holiday heat by matching competitors’ Black Friday Deals one week early starting 11/22 at 8 A.M.! This will apply to in-store shoppers and Walmart.com shoppers!!!”, Is this true and would we just have to show them their competitor’s BF ad on mobile to price match it?
And does your post mean Walmart will not BF ad match like they did last year?
They are price matching just like last year. This means that they are going to lower their prices to what some of the competitors have in their BF ads, one week before black friday. you won’t be able to ad match one week early.
Thank you so much for clarifying this for me 🙂
You example shows the Skylanders and Infinity starter kits for $37? When and how can I get it at the price? Your video makes sense but the examples confuse me again.
From the above article: “They will also be lowering prices on popular toys and electronics, to match select Black Friday offers from Target, Toys R’ Us and Best Buy one week early. You can read more HERE. This doesn’t mean they are allowing you to ad match Black Friday Prices one week early. It means they will be lowering the prices that some of their competitors are offering to match their Black Friday Prices 1 week before the sale starts!!!” I’m confused as well. It seems like Walmart will match, then they won’t, and then they will? Please help me understand what that means. Thank you!
Does this mean if I were to buy the LeapPad2 right now on Walmart.com, could I price match on their website for this Friday when it goes to $39.99 and get the difference back or do I need to wait until this Friday to purchase it to get the sale price? Also, is this 8am Eastern time for the web sales?
I am not sur about the online price match for Walmart to Walmart. I am trying to get that cleared up.
Okay, so if I go online or into the store this Friday, 22nd, I will see Skylander starter kit priced as $37?
yes!
OK. so according to your video update, walmart will now MATCH BF PRICING ON BR IN THEIR STORES? I want to buy a Nintendo 3ds xl at $149 at Walmart not Target where they offer it on thanksgiving as a doorbuster at 8PM. Will I be able to buy at $149 in WALMART STORE LOCATION at the 8pm Thanksgiving sale time which will match the Target store price for the same time? HELP!
If I want the ipod deal with $50 gift card that target has can i get that at walmart gift card and great price? And the ipad 2 deal at best buy, can i get that at Walmart also?
My mother in law bought the Skylanders & Disney Infinity sets from Walmart.com & sent the email to christmasadmatch@walmart.com on Friday with the information requested to get a Walmart gift card for the difference. She does not think she has received a response yet (but she’s also not really great with a computer). Does anyone know what the turnaround time is to receive a response? Thanks!
I found the answer here: http://help.walmart.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/482
A friend purchased a camera in store and put on layaway and picked it up today. When I looked it up on line, the price was $100.00 cheaper so I went with them back to walmart to inquire about the price match and was told that they do not match their online price. That doesn’t seem right and I’m very confused by their policy. Any thoughts?
That is their policy, yes it seems strange but it has been that way for a long time. I would cancel that item and buy it online.
