I just received a call from Walmart Corporate letting me know that they released a statement that they have updated the Online Price Match Policy due in large part to the information that we were able to share with them! I am really happy that we were able to help, I only wish they had mentioned I Heart the Mart in the press release!!!:-) Can you believe they saw my video?!
I think the changes are exactly the right thing and will ensure that Online Price Matching is here to stay! What do you think?
Here is the official statement:
Statement:
“We launched online price matching because it’s the right thing for our customers. It’s making a meaningful difference for people who want to feel confident they’re getting great prices, and we’re committed to matching online prices going forward.
“At the same time, we can’t tolerate fraud or attempts to trick our cashiers. This kind of activity is unfair to the millions of customers who count on us every day for honest value. With this in mind, we’ve updated our policy to clarify that we will match prices from Walmart.com and 30 major online retailers, but we won’t honor prices from marketplace vendors, third-party sellers, auction sites or sites requiring memberships.
“We will continue to listen to feedback from our customers and our cashiers to make sure our online price match policy is working. Customers with questions can read the updated policy by searching ‘online price match’ at Walmart.com.”

First Wal-Mart decides to have a price war with us Amazon Marketplace third party sellers. THEN they call us scammers and frauds when it was THEIR customers-(if anyone), committing the alleged fraud.
This entire incident was being called “scam” and “fraud” before ANYONE could have even RECEIVED ANYTHING sold by Amazon 3ps.
If WAL-MART customers were playing with pictures of legitimate Amazon listings-the SCAMMER is YOUR customer.
And yeah-the previous Wal-Mart policy said that shipping costs were not included in the price for purposes of price-matching, so how is it a SCAM if a 3ps charges a really LOW price for Tide, and then the normal shipping cost for it or even for some items a slightly higher shipping and handling cost to compete with what Wal-Mart started in the first place? this was a SMEAR campaign from the beginning to mention, say and imply that ALL 3ps are “frauds’ and “scammers” and WAL-MART owes us an apology.
I am not sure what you were reading, Walmart never blamed 3rd party sellers. They blamed people making up fake 3rd party seller accounts in order to price match. The people scamming and people who were unaware were using these prices. I am the oone that alerted Walmart to this. They had no idea it was happening.
