Hi, I also found a good deal on the sure deodorant. They are 2 for three dollars at walgreens and if you use two of the 1.00 off any sure deodorant then you can get two for $1.00 plus if you have register rewards they can be free!! There is a limit of four per household

Paul…I got everyone of your deals except the gum. On the Advil, the cashier scanned the coupon but it wouldn’t bring a value. It beeped and she tried to say the amount was ok but it wouldn’t work. She looked puzzled and asked if I got them…I told her I bought pocket packs which were not trial size so I’m not sure why it isnt working. She shrugged her shoulders and entered the $5 after she looked to make sure I had three. I always go to one of my favorite cashiers when possible as they like to see how much I saved.

I live in Washington State. One of my local Walmarts woudn’t let me use the $5.00 Advil coupon saying the pocket pak was a trial size. The bottle itself doesn’t say anything about trial size. I had the CSR called over. It didn’t help

Also, on the Degree deodorant $.97 size, the CSR wouldn’t take my $1.00 off coupon saying that I had to spend a minimum of $1.00 in order for her to accept the coupon. I don’t get this one.

As I was leaving, my cashier told me the other Walmart in my area was much more lenient with their coupon policy. She said some clerks have lost their jobs from coupon issues. I certainly don’t want that to happen.

Thanks for the Advil info. I used two newpaper coupons and the one from website and got eight packets basically for free 🙂 The cashier also had trouble putting them through and confirmed they were not trial sizes and over rode all three of them.

      To Mary,
I bought a newspaper from walmart and found out an insert was missing. I called and they basically said i needed to take it up with the newspaper company. I then emailed walmart and told them what happened as well as the response i got. I basically said, “I paid walmart for my paper, not the newspaper company.” I was contacted by phone and walmart told me that I was told wrong and that I needed to go back to walmart and get my money back. Also, they said that if it happens again, just go to the customer service desk (same day) and they will give me an insert from another paper. They wanted to try and track down the person that told me to go to the newspaper company to complain. Apparently that person was going to get reprimanded for what they told me. I was glad that i didn’t remember the name as I didn’t want to get anyone into trouble.

You may want to get a subscription to your paper- I wasn’t getting all the inserts either so I asked why- home delivery always gets first priority and if they run out of inserts, those are the ones that end up for sale. I haven’t missed an insert since I got a subscription- plus its cheaper!

Mary I too am from Kentucky and I got the Red Plum inserts. Someone may have taken them out of the newspapers! I know that our area has had so many ppl stealing newspapers from mailboxes and inserts from store newspapers for the coupons that it has made the news! I think thats a teeny bit ridiculous…I always check every single paper I buy to make sure that it has all of the inserts in it that its suppose to.

On another note. I’m kind of glad that I have 3 Walmarts that are all relatively close to me and all carry the advil pocket packs! I’m hoping that even if one doesnt want to take my coupons that another one will! Thanks for the info on the travel febreeze and travel suave deodorant and I hadnt even thought to use my coupons on travel size versions of those!!!! 😀

I bought 3 packs of Advil (full size) at CVS today and used the $5.00 coupon, it beeped several times, the cashier didn’t know why it was beeping either, but after 5 tries he just did an over ride on it. Maybe it is something wrong with the barcode?

The Fabreze deal did not go through at my store and they also wouldn’t let me use the Tide coupons on the trial size. I am so tired of not being able to use my coupons or the items not being stocked. I’m going to give up on Walmart. All I usually end up with is a waste of time, a hassle from the cashier and frustration. I’m going to stick with Vg’s, Kroger, Walgreens and Rite-Aid. I live in Flint, Mi. Wish I hearted the Mart but I don’t.

Thanks, Paul. What a sweet offer! I know you’re a busy man and I don’t expect you to take time and deal with everyone’s gripe. But, since you asked–It’s store number 1968 and the manager is John Hazeltine at (810) 733-5055. Sounds like a lot of us are running into problems. It’s so disappointing when you’re excited about a good deal and really need to save money and only leave the store frustrated. I’ll still read your blog even if I don’t shop at Walmart. Thanks!

I just tried to get the Advil pocket packs with my $5 off 3 coupon and they would not let me use it. They said that they were travel size and they were excluded from the coupon. I was disappointed when they told me that so I will try a different Wal Mart and see if I can use it there.

I also had the problem with them not using the tide coupon for the trial size. The cashier said that proctor and gamble sent out a journal to stores saying what they could use their coupons for and what they couldn’t so you may see this more often. I tried using a 2.00 of coupon that didn’t have a size limit. It beeped the cashier wouldn’t do it.

i would have politely asked to see the “Journal” if they dont show you, just ask for District Managers and Corporates tp#. if that doesnt scare them then at least you have ome numbers you can call and get things fixed

In the Brookshire Bros. ad this week they are adverstising 3 pks of Bic pens for 1.00. Walmart has them for 1.00 a pack. There was a coupon in last week’s paper for 1.00 off of 2 packs of Bic pens. Walmart honored it and I bought 12 packs of pens for 0.00 with my coupons. Also, in same Brookshire brothers ad the Snack Pak (4 in a pack) puddings are 77. each. At Walmart they are 1.00 each. I took my 45 cents off of 3 coupon from this week’s paper and saved a bunch.

On the Advil deal: Could a picture or actual trial packet (usually with 2 tablets) from a place like a gas station, or even the Walmart checkout line, display to the worker that it is different than the travel size?

Tried to do the Advil deal today at my local Walmart. They gave me such a hard time. The cashier would not even listen to me when I tried to explain the difference between the trial size and the pocket pack I asked to speak to the manager who was very rude and told me I did not know what I was talking about.I got out my coupon policy she told me she would not look at it and that I was wrong it was a trial size and they have to go off of the picture.I said they go off the wording not the picture.I asked to speak to her manager she told me she did not know where they where at.I asked her her name she walked off I folowed her and asked her for her name again she rolled her eyes ans said her name under her breath I had to ask one of the workers her name.Such a BAD trip I dont want to go back to Walmart again.I could have really used that Advil afer all that.

I often got the cashier and manager who went off the picture and not the wording. I even had one manager go so far as to say I could only use my coupon on the paticular packaging and scent pictured alothough it was a general coupon for any of those products! My husband and I used to joke that “there’s the proof our country is becoming more and more illiterate!” I now drive an extra 20 minutes out of my way (I live 5 minutes from our local Walmart) as I am treated better and they always take the time to work with me. When the manager sees me now, they ask if I’m going to need them to close down a lane for me (a convenience for other shoppers who used to get caught behind the crazy coupon lady that took 45 minutes in scanning coupons alone!). My family was struggling to make ends meet after I became ill and needed most of our family budget to go to specialized medical equipment and I look forward to Paul’s weekly updates on cheap finds so I can plan my trip out. Don’t back down and if need be talk to cooperate, just make sure you get all of the information about the visit (cahshier’s name, manager’s name, store number, time, register number, date and specifics on what happened) We work hard for our money and no one should make us feel bad for trying to save it!

    Hello all,
In regards to the Advil “pocket packs”, they are NOT trial/travel size. I called Pfizer, the manufacturer of Advil, and the wonderful lady at Pfizer said they had had a lot of problems with Walmart, in particular, not accepting their coupons and it has gotten significantly more frequent lately. So our nice Pfizer rep said to go gather my Advil coupons, take my phone with me so that I could call them and verify with a CSM, and head down to Walmart. I spent about 30 minutes waiting for a CSM to honor the purchase. She went in her office and never came back out for 40 minutes!!! Two different cashiers knocked on the door as I stood outside of it. Finally, thank the Lord, the store’s assistant manager came up, asked if she could help, I gave her the scenario about speaking to Pfizer in reference to the pocket pack vs trial size. She said ok no problem. I offered the phone number so she could verify that they would get reimbursed for my coupons and she said it wasn’t necessary. We were now about 40 minutes into the trip when the CSM finally came out and said that the pharmacy was going to have to verify and the asst, mngr looks and says, “this is not a problem, she has her policy, verified the product, and has the info to back it up”. Yay!!! So my advice is take the Pfizer # with you!!!!! 800-882-3845. Thanks for all the hard work and blessings to you all.
