There have been some new changes to the new 2012 Target coupon policy. My wife loves Target, I actually like shopping there as well. I REALLY like the Target coupons and wish Walmart would jump on board with that. Can you imagine what a difference shopping there would be like if they had Walmart store coupons and they started doing the $5 gift card deals like Target does.
Anyway, there are a few BIG changes at Target that you need to be aware of if you shop there. This is the coupon policy ONLY, we can talk about the price match policy tomorrow!
At this point the Walmart coupon policy in my opinion is much better as far as not making it complicated. Target wins because of the mobil and Target store coupons and having more options.
The game changer is overage at Walmart. Target is adjusting down the coupon and not giving overage.
The biggest changes for Target:
- Limit of 4 identical coupons per household, per day (unless otherwise noted on coupon).
- Returns of items purchased using Manufacturer Coupons may receive coupon value returned in the form of a Target GiftCard.
Target stores coupon policy
Manufacturer and Target Coupons:
- Target accepts one Manufacturer Coupon and one Target Coupon for the same item (unless prohibited by either coupon).
- Sadly Walmart does not have Walmart store coupon
- We reserve the right to accept, refuse, or limit the use of any coupon.
- Limit of 4 identical coupons per household, per day (unless otherwise noted on coupon).
- Walmart does not have a limit (after 40 a CSM will be needed to turn the key)
- All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier during checkout.
- Item purchased must match the coupon description (brand, size, quantity, color, flavor, etc.).
- Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
- If coupon value exceeds the price of the item, the excess may be given to the customer as cash or applied toward the basket purchase.
- We can’t give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.
- If coupon value exceeds the price of the item, the excess may be given to the customer as cash or applied toward the basket purchase.
- All applicable sales taxes are paid by the guest at the full value of the item.
- These guidelines apply to all coupons accepted at Target (Color Checkout Coupons, Internet Coupons, •Mobile Coupons, Mailed Coupons, Coupons from Newspapers and Magazines, etc.).
- Great Value, Marketside, Equate, Parents Choice, and World Table coupons have no cash value and are ineligible for cash back or application to the basket purchase.

- We gladly accept valid internet coupons that contain a clear and scannable bar code.
- We do not accept internet coupons for free items with no purchase requirements.

Walmart does not have or accept Mobil Coupons 🙁
Target Buy One Get One Free Coupons (BOGO):
- BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, the use of one Buy One Get One Free coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to the guest and the 2nd item will be discounted by its full retail price.
- A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.
- If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon may be used on the first item.

does or (should they, I say that cause my wally isnt very coupon or in general friendly) honor the winn dixie deal like buy item A for $6.99 and get item B, item C and D for free, a cashier told me no but I dont understand why because prices are listed
that is up to the manager, the policy states that they don’t honor buy product A get B/C for free. but some stores will do it if they list all the prices
Just read about this a few days ago! AND this is why I have been shopping more and more at Walmart! #1 they price match,#2 they took compet. cpns,#3 my favorite cashier never gives me any hassle! So why would I not shop @ Walmart? 😀 Ty
I agree Wal-Mart is by far the best. Between their price matching and taking any amount of coupons i can find Overall Wal Marts prices are pretty fair too… i love walmart but some wal marts (autintown Ohio) are coupon haters…:( but i just drive a little further for no hassle shopping 🙂 i heart wal mart too 🙂
WOW!! Target is going to limit the number of “Like” coupons to 4??!!! I might have to drive 5 more miles and go to WalMart 🙁
I can’t wait to hear about their Price Match Policy because I get a different answer every single time I shop and I go to the same store. The latest is about an update to the cash registers. Sometimes they PM at the registers other times I have to go to guest services.
