Wouldn’t it be AWESOME to be able to access your most watched movies digitally as well as on DVD? Wouldn’t it be so much easier to not scratch the movies or loose them if they were all in one safe place?
DreamWorks and Walmart felt this way too and have partnered to form this great new service. You can now grab the digital copy of your previously purchased DreamWorks Paramount Home Media, Sony Pictures, 20th Centruy Fox, Universal Studios and Warner Bros.
I’m really excited about this new service! This is going to be such a money and time saver for us. While I’ve not found a way to quickly find out if your local store is equipped yet, you can simply call the photo lab and ask. My store doesn’t have the equipment yet. We will be first in line when they do though!
How will this work?
- Bring your previous qualifying movie to a local participating Walmart Photo Center.
- A Walmart associate will help to create your FREE VUDU account.
- Choose the option of converting to a standard DVD or Blu-ray ($2) OR HD copy ($5).
- Authorization of the digital copies will take place then your digital copy will be available in your VUDU account. No need to upload form your actual disc.
- Log into your VUDU account from more than 300 internet-connected devices and enjoy!
Currently there are more than 3,500 Walmart stores in the US that are going to be equipped for this program.
The available titles you will be able to find are:
The Frugality of this Program.
Regaurdless of how much you initially spent on the DVD/Blu-ray, replacing it is never cheap. Let’s face it, we all have those favorite movies that our little curtain climbers have drug arocss the fireplace hearth or even stepped on. Wouldn’t the movies be safer if the kids couldn’t get to them? Wouldn’t it be more convent to just select and click play rather than scour the house looking for the dang thing?
For the cost of a Sunday Newspaper you can get a movie that will last much longer. OR upgrade to the HD version for the price of a cup of coffee house coffee.
Sure there are other online services where you can watch the digital version of your favorite movies BUT you will get watch them only once and/or pay more the two bucks for them.
You’ll already be picking up your groceries so why not grab the digital version of your favorite movies while you’re at it?
