The Ozark Trail 30 oz tumblers are out of stock, but the 20 oz are back in stock for just $7.74
Guys – I wanted to let you in on a little secret about the Ozark Trail tumblr that YETI owners might not want to hear…. (You can also read a viral Facebook post here)
Ozark Trail Tumblr
…it’s amazing.
Being frugal and all – I wanted to see if the YETI was worth all the hype or if a knockoff would do the job.
I picked a couple up Ozark Trail 30 oz tumblers this past weekend at Walmart and went to the store to pick them up. They’d been out of stock for a while – following a lawsuit by YETI over similarties. To combat that – it looks like they’ve chosen to powder coat them black. Well – I like this look even MORE.
I did a very un-professional ice test just to see how well the cups insulated – and here’s what happened.
**Again – my test wasn’t very scientific, as it was NOT mimicking normal use under sun and hot conditions, but it was just a fun test to satisfy my curiosity and I thought you might like to hear how it went!
I filled the tumbler halfway up with ice and put the lid on about Noon on Friday and left it out on the counter. Before I went to bed at 11pm Friday it still had good solid chunks of ice and very little water at the bottom.
At 10 am Saturday, I checked on it and there was still a little bit of ice left.
By noon it was all melted. But it kept the water very cold. For 24 hours. Which is pretty good for a cup with a hole in the lid! (Speaking of which – you might want to pick up a replacement lid that slides closed – I did think that was a little odd.)
That’s it – totally unscientific, but impressive in my mind nonetheless! What do you think? Have you tried them both?
We’d LOVE to hear if you do a side by side comparison – I’m borrowing a buddy’s later this week and I’ll post the results of that too!
I cannot find any of the black powder coated tumblers. Are these no longer available?
