What’s Up Everyone?!?!!?! I was on the Walmart Executive Call for Holiday Season Announcements yesterday. I wasn’t allowed to even tell you until today. Not to sound too Super Hyped up, even though Walmart definitely is, they do have some pretty cool stuff that I am excited to tell you about. I love the executive calls, I am on a call with reporters from USA Today, Associated Press, Fortune Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Consumer Reports, Bloomberg, CBS and Money Watch just to name a few.
The call was to break down Walmart’s 4 part Strategy to kick some serious Grinch this Holiday Season.
1. Lead with Low Prices and Honest Values– We know Walmart does that, that is why I write I Heart the Mart.
2. Biggest Assortment and Best Brands–
They will have more than 1,000,000 additional items than they did last year. You literally should be able to buy almost anything at Walmart or on Walmart.com.
Starting Nov. 1, Walmart will offer more than 20,000 Rollbacks on items including groceries and the most popular items of the season. Items from Disney “Frozen,” Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Samsung, and Dell.
Just two days later on November 3rd, Walmart is bringing back its popular 24-hour holiday cyber savings event.
They are actually pulling deals up reserved for Black Friday and Cyber Monday start on shortly after midnight Pacific Time on Monday, Nov. 3. They include:
Walmart has started their One Day Cyber Event with a TON of great deals!! To kick-off the holiday shopping season, Walmart is holding a 24-hour Cyber Event TODAY! Mon., Nov. 3 featuring deals usually saved for Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Also on Nov. 3, Walmart will have the hottest gaming release of the year, “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” available in stores. Walmart is the only retailer with an in-game exclusive – an exoskeleton. Additionally, customers can get 50 percent more trade in value when they trade in a game and purchase “Call of Duty: Advance Warfare.”

3. Make shopping easier and online– This one I am the most excited about!
Walmart is rolling out something called the Checkout Promise! On the call lets just say they were vague at best on what this actually meant. Questions were asked about the details of the plan and to be honest there really isn’t a set policy on how it would work, but there are some goals. I was thinking ok, lets make the policy that if more than 4 people are in line they will pledge to open another check out lane or some variation.
I am really happy to tell you that after visiting about 4 different stores last night and this morning, it is actually going to be way better than that. Starting November 22, every manager that I have talked to is telling me that their goal is to have EVERY REGISTER OPEN from 12-8 on the weekends and every day for the last 2 weeks before Christmas. Each one of them are fully committed to making this happen, they told me that the only thing that will keep a register from being open is if the register is down. Some managers told me that they will have every register open from 4-9 during the week also. FINGERS CROSSED!!!!!
The second part of making the shopping easier is a REALLY COOL new feature on Savings Catcher called Search Your Store. You will be able to look for an items availability in your store from your phone! It is supposed to even be able to tell you where in the store you can find it, they said it is tied into real time inventory tracking.
Also available on Android phones right now is a Create a Wishlist feature. This allows you to create a Christmas wish list and share it with people that may be inclined to buy gifts for you or your kids. I am going to make mine and send it out to everyone!! 🙂 It will be available for iPhones in about 2 weeks.
4. Bring Holiday Joy!
I am not much into the typical corporate holiday tag lines, but they are actually doing something that will bring some Holiday Joy. Starting November 2nd Walmart will be Price Matching Holiday Ham & Turkey Deals!!! I am still waiting for clarification, but I am ready to gobble that one up!
Here is a list of some of the HOT offering and Rollbacks that Walmart will be offering Starting November 1. THATS TOMORROW!!!!

- Element 40” LED HDTV for $199, was $298
- NutriNinja Pro Blender for $65, was $99
- Crayola Paint Maker for $12, was $18.88
They didn’t give ANY Walmart Black Friday or Cyber Monday Information. They also wouldn’t talk about the online price matching program that is going on in certain markets. I am thinking and a source tells me that they will expand it nationwide! Walmart has ALWAYS allowed their managers to decide if they want to match online prices in their store. I have two stores near me that do it already!!
