My wife shops the Kroger Mega Event items all the time and I usually price match it at Walmart. She had a really good trip a few days ago that I think is a good example of a “regular” shopping trip where you save some money! NOT an “extreme” trip where you just buy crap and whatever is free that week. At the end of the trip she saved 57% which is awesome because that was OVER $130 saved! Plus we had 3 dinners, TONS os snacks and fresh meat and produce.
YOU CAN DO THIS DEAL AT WALMART!!!!
You are able to price match the Kroger ( or Kroger affiliate stores ) mega event sales at Walmart. If it is one where you get the $2 catalinas back, you won’t get those, but you WILL get the prices listed in the ad.
Plus, you CAN use coupons on top of the price match. IF you are having trouble at your store doing that call 1-800-walmart and ask them what the official policy is so that you know for yourself. Then I would ask them to talk to your manager and ask them to follow the official policy. The reason that this is the policy, is because the point of price matching is to get you to shop at Walmart and not another store. They want you to be able to get the same deals you can anywhere else. If you can’t price match and use a coupon, then what is the point? You would just go where you can get it cheaper…. right?

What an excellent shopping trip! I am part of a local group of price matchers and my Walmart store will not let us match the Dillons WYB 10 pricing, we can only match the prices that are not in yellow, like the ritz would be $2.49, we can’t match the $2.19 price. As much as I love Walmart, it would be so nice if they would let everyone have the same deals as everyone else. I love your site! Keep up the good work! It’s much appreciated!

Does your wife have a blog that regularly features the Kroger deals? I noticed that a few coupons were less than .50 so it would be a better deal at Kroger bc it would double.
Paul says
yes, she blogs at http://www.mylitter.com and posts a TON of Kroger deals and does the matchups each week. Our Kroger here does not double but you would be able to do the math in your head.
