Last night my 13 year old decides he wants a haircut, I am freaking out over this. Did I hear him correctly, he wants to cut the overgrown bush that has taken over his head? His hair is so thick I have been increasingly concerned that his brain can’t breathe. That and being a teenager is a bad combo.
Naturally, “I jump in it” ( with a russian accent, can you identify that commercial?) I say, “can I cut it, please please” Here is where the proof comes in that his brain was indeed being deprived of the necessary oxygen. Who does he pick? His Mother? A formerly licensed Barber who went to Barber College and has done haircuts in the 1000’s?
Nooooo, the teen genius picks his me, the guy that can’t hold scissors or trim his own sideburns properly. Can you believe he had the gall to blame me for the bad haircut? I think his brain is back to fully functioning(for a teenager) He really has taken it well. Well, he will be able to look back and laugh, and so will we!
Still waiting for my son to chop his “overgrown bush that has taken over his head”. Thanks for the giggle!
This is so funny! I know where you are coming from. My 14 just came to me the other day to get his mess cut off! I was in shock and now he loves it. THANK GOD! I have twin boys and I wish the other one would cut his off!
Hahaha, well glad he is a trooper and Happy Birthday!!! Your hair looks good :~)
I have a teen who has a good luck hair-do. He’s a 14 yr old, come on…whatever. LOL Every summer he chops it into a mohawk for softball. THIS year however he decided he needed to do it for track too. Ughhhhhh. Now I have to withstand it for 5 months instead of just 3. Oh well, its just hair, and in a pinch it can easily be remedied with a buzzer!
I use to cut hubbies hair with one of those electric trimmers. I was such a perfectionist to and took it seriously. It always came out AWESOME, but he had to complain about something still! Well he finally got me to cut his hair again (about 16 months ago!) and I had it perfect and he kept complaining about the front. So I said FINE! I’ll trim it up some more then! I was so tired of cutting and just wanted him to be happy. Little did I know I forgot to put the attachment on and it was just BARE RAZOR! I proceeded to “trim” right up the middle starting from his forehead to the back of the head and I screamed when I realized what I did!! I locked myself in the bathroom and cried so long! He laughed though… maybe because I was 8 months pregnant and he felt sorry for me??? IDK. I never cut hair anymore. LOL! I think your son’s hair looks good though!!!
That’s really funny. My wife “the barber” came out to fix it and didn’t look at the attachment that was on there assuming it was the one I cut it with and well… Tuck has a large divot as well, it wasn’t the bare razor but it was a #2. lol
That’s what happened to me! I had taken the thing apart already to clean it & forgot to put the piece back on… oops!
I cut my boys hair too. Once I was trimming around his ears with scissors and he turned his head just as I was cutting. I ended up cutting off a small portion off of the top of his ear. Blood everywhere, him crying, me freaking out.
I felt SO bad about this and he took full advanatge. He wore bandaides on his ear for a WEEK. Not just one regular band aide, but 3 at a time. People would ask him what happened and he’d say ‘My Mom cut my ear off’. Not my finest moment.
