This is a post you can forward to your husbands or it might be for the 5 guys that I know stop by here. Unless you have been in a cave, you are probably aware that Valentines Day is tomorrow. If you are the typical male you probably haven’t completed your Valentines Day plans yet.
Don’t worry, I Heart the Mart is here to help. I found some great ideas to make it a special night, and no this post will not include anything from the Health and Beauty Isles.
I saw these really beautiful roses for only $15.00 and they had a 1/2 Dozen for only $6.00. I don’t think they really thought that one through on the pricing, but regardless I can pick up a dozen roses for my beautiful wife and a 1/2 dozen for each of my gorgeous girls!
These candles will look awesome for my annual Valentines Dinner. Every year I make a special dinner for everyone and we decorate the table real fancy. When I say “fancy”, I mean red paper table cloths and heart candles! These will make a nice upgrade.
Now for my relationship/life saving advice: Guys, Read Carefully!
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES is it okay to buy Lingerie from Walmart for your wife!
Would she look amazing in it, absolutely! Does she love animal prints? Maybe. But the answer is still NO!!
I suppose there could be a scenario where you could cut all the tags and stick it in a Victoria Secret box. You would have to be very clever and VERY ACCURATE!
Imagine this scene: Your lovely wife is returning her item for a correct size and the “really friendly” 20 year old tells her its from Walmart! It’s too painful to think about, please up your life insurance if you plan on being a daredevil.
My Hubby got me a beautiful nightie that he saw me looking at in Walmart for our anniversary/valentines day this year. I’m so happy with it! I would have been mad if he had overpaid for something form Victoria’s Secret.
he is a lucky man!
I hear you! While I would love some nice lingerie he picked out, I would prefer it not be too expensive. Kinda like I let my hubby know (none too subtley) that Valentines flowers are a very good idea…BUT he is welcome to get them the day after when they are on sale, and at Walmart. I say if he really wants to spend $30 on me, I can think of plenty he can spend the extra on after getting reduced price Walmart flowers 😉
think it’s funny how one post is how to be romantic and the next is an ept post. lol.
been married 30 years now, my husband’s friends think i am weird because when my hubbie askes what i want, it is usually to get the car serviced ie oil change, air filter (have you priced those lately?my gosh). i like to think i won’t be sitting on the side on the road due to our lack of attention to things like that.
I just laughed out loud at your post! Yes, I would probably be less than thrilled with Walmart lingerie! I am frugal in just about every other area, but you’ve gotta go with Victoria’s Secret when it comes to underthings!
I LOVE VS. I’ve worked for walmart for years, and I can’t get into any of their clothes. (not the fit, but the kind of 2 seasons behind style). I coupon and save my family money, but clothes esp. nighties and any sort of under garment are strictly VS or tommy! I love this post. paul you’re so funny!
too funny!! I want to know what’s for dinner, I checked out mylitter’s weekly meal planner & tomorrow is missing cause you’re in charge 😉 guess I can wait until tomorrow
You make me laugh every single day, Paul! I tell my husband no flowers on Valentine’s Day- I’d rather have them some day I’m not expecting them. That’s after being married 15 years, though. If he’d not shown up with flowers when we were dating, he’d have been in the doghouse!
I will take the advice as the 6th guy who checks the site daily.
Paul, you’re awesome!
Paul ur ha-larious! but I would rather my lingerie not cost an arm and a leg so I actually don’t mind getting them from wal-mart, but I hate our wal-mart so won’t be getting anything from there unless it’s an absolutely have to have basis.
Okay, I’m a “penny pincher”! I’m a housewife of 3 little girls and my husband (of 15 years and who is the “sole” provider) has to ask me if he can buy me something or not! His friends (co-workers) asked him what he was going to buy me and he laughed and said, “My wife would be mad if I buy her something…she would rather get nothing than something”! Absolutely, I would! I don’t get into the “money sucking holiday’s” – instead, we buy something “expensive” for the house every year. We don’t celebrate BD, Anniv., Christmas, etc. (between each other – of course we do with the kids): However, we do buy something for the house at the end of each year! I don’t condemn anyone who celebrates holidays and special occasions…we just choose a different way (we will be going on a cruise next year :))
I don’t think my boyfriend of 7 years knows what valentines day is lol. a ring would be nice ha
I don’t normally post on here but you are just to funny! haha And by the way I love that you include your kids because for years my dad has bought me flowers and chocolate every valentines day and it really does make me feel special 🙂 (even though I’m only 16) I still love it! And my brother thinks hes gonna get away with not getting his fiance anything for valentines day, I think I’ll make him read this post…
This post made me laugh!!! It’s sooo true though, lol!
Ok, this was too funny!!!
I’m one of those 5 guys! Omm yeah animal print. Muey bueno.
LOL That is so funny!
Speaking of valentines stuff at Walmart does anyone know when the valentines clearance begins at a 24 hour mart?
It should click over when the registers do at midnight
Too funny Paul!
Props to you Paul. Your girls shouldn’t have to wait around for a boy to buy them flowers.
HILARIOUS and so true!!!!
Such an awesome post Paul! I love that you buy your daughters flowers as well that is so sweet!
Love this site! Your posts are funny Paul. Btw thank you for doing all the research for us it comes in handy more than you probably know.
Anyway, every weekday morning I wake my fiance up for work because he can’t hear the alarm (yeah right ;P ). This morning I was practically yelling to try to get him to hear me and get up. He snapped at me! So I yelled Well Happy Valentines Day to you too (not so nice name)!! He says sorry honey. Happy Valentines Day. – All I have to say is I better get a darn nice gift. 🙂
Great advice. I am not really into the whole animal print lingerie and especially NOT from Walmart. I am far from snobbish and don’t demand expensive jewelry from my husband like some women but ya, I would totally be insulted if my husband bought me lingerie from Walmart. He wouldn’t be seeing me in it or any lingerie for that matter for a very long time!
