**Update** Something really FREAKY happened and no one could leave comments for like the first 1.5 hours of the contest. Therefore, I am going to get real freaky and extend the Giveaway through Saturday Night. Good Luck!
It’s Friday and time for I Heart the Mart’s Freaky Friday Giveaway! If this is your first one, where have you been? Each week I look for a silly or ridiculous product that makes me laugh and give it away here to you!
I love V-Tech products, they are usually very well made and educational in nature. I have to say reading the box made me laugh, it says “Active Play For Your Wild Child”. I mean I know my child is wild, I know that you know that my child is Wild, She probably tried to impale you as I went by with my cart. That doesn’t mean I want you to know that I know that my child is wild.
The kicker that really made me laugh is the turtle. I mean talk about really ironic, an active toy that is designed after the most un-wild beast on the earth. Is it just me or is this kinda funny? I am sure it is really fun, but kinda funny too!
Freaky Friday Prize:
1 V-Tech Bouncing Colors Turtle
Leave your comments here, you have until Midnight Pacific Time to Enter! What toy did you get for your child that you were the most excited about and your kid just completely didn’t get it?
My son got a 3-wheeler for his 2nd birthday just recently. While we were excited as his daddy was putting it together, all he cared about was the box. Should’ve saved the money and got a big box!
I say that same thing EVERY Christmas!!!! LOL
When I was little the toys I loved the most were my babies I had a great time playing with my sister. I also loved all kind of baby toys aww at the same time shad an okay childhood. Until my parents split up then I I just forgot about everything. Thank u 😉
I got my girls a slip n slide last summer. I loved this as a kid. They didn’t understand what to do with it. Granted, they were ages 1 & 3. My awesome father who was with me got down and showed them how to slip n slide. He is 65. Yes, I got it on video and laugh everytime I think about it. They finally got the hang of it, kind of.
My son totally didn’t get my excitement for Lincoln logs…
This is so cute!!
My favorite toy I got for my youngest was this blue elephant slide and I think they have played with it maybe once! It just sits there collecting dust! It’s so cute I can’t believe no one plays with it! Haha
My son is only 6 months and I havn’t been able to introduce him to any of my favorite toys. My favorite stuffed animal was Bogey from the Shirt Tales. 🙂
Well my baby is only 7 months old and we were very excited and bought a bunch of hello kitty bows, toys and dolls and she could care less about them. She likes the toy we got out of a vending machine much better. Oh Well!!!
A light bright! She hated it. I use to play with mine for hours!
My child is a year and a half we have gave him trucks race car balls everything that we think he might like but same as the guy when he said he had more fun with the box. Until now he is starting to play but he just learned to throw stuff so thats all he does. Thank u 😉
One year for Christmas I put some neccesiity items in my son’s pile (underwear and socks) When he opened that present he looked at it like “really”!!! I’ll never forget the look on his face. LOL
I thought my son would love the toy laptop a got him. Well he was not excited about it at all. I guess cause it was educational…..oops!! Great giveaway!
I was soooo excited to get my son this extremely large caillou train set. When he took it out of the box, we discovered that the Caillou and Rosie dolls heads could pop off, my son was soooo mortified of this, that he threw all the pieces down, to NEVER, play with the darn toy again! I was bummed, and he was scared for life 🙂
Jumperoo- I thought it will be great but she just sat in it (hang) and didn’t know what to do. It took us several months of tries for her to “get it”. Now she loves is!
I got my son the Alpace bear!!! It’s made in Peru and from 100% Alpaca hair……well it sleeps on my bed now since my son didn’t care for it and I like soft and cuddly things 🙂
Haha that is awesome and my nephew would love it! Plus turtles are my fave:)
I got my son a Fisher Price race track, with a spinning “bowl” type of thing in the middle, and all he did was sit in it. haha
I got my kids the Penguin Slide (the penguins walk up and slide down), it was a toy that I grew up with and loved!!! They looked at it for a couple minutes and walked away. I guess it wasn’t as entertaining to them as it was to me : (
Ijust bought my son the Alphie and I loved this as a kid but he would rather play in the dog water bowl!!!!
My 1 year old loves playing with touch screens and has it down very good. She grabs our phones and knows how to get to the game screens. I thought she would love the V tech mobigo touch handheld game console. So I spent weeks looking for the best sale, best games for the console which would not only be entertaining but educational as well. Well, scored a great deal on a new mobigo for $35 from TRU. Wrapped it up, gave it to her to only watch her play with it for about 20 minutes. Then, it was on the floor and she was back with our phones! Never been able to get her interested in it!
My son will be four this year and last Christmas I got him one of those LeapPads. It was like toy of the year or something. Well I was really excited about it because it was educational and great for road trips. I handed it to him and I was saying “Hurry. Open it. Open it” while snapping pictures because I thought he would be just as excited as I was. He just thought I was crazy and after he saw what it was he didn’t think much of it. He still plays with it every now and then, but I still wish he would play with it more.
A sit n spin. It never got used.
Got my 5 year old the Tag Reader and it’s become a dust collector LOL
I bought a TMX Elmo, I could not wait until my little guy at the time opened it, once he opened it he played with it for 2 mins and wanted nothing to do with it. Me on the other hand played with it for hours before I even wrapped it.
I bought a My Little Pony train set. It was super adorable and thought she will love it. Unfortunately, she prefer other toys.
Last Christmas we got our two daughters matching yellow lamborghini powered cars, we were super excited about them, my husband stayed up late putting them together, morning comes and they went straight the biggest box they saw and walked right pass the cars. Wasn’t what I was expecting
when my son was younger I got him the toy that popped balls out of it( not sure what it is called) and he hated it!
I was so excited to get one of those pop-up animal toys for my kids where you push a button or turn a key or slide a knob and an animal pops out of the box. My first two kids never played with it and I think were initially scared by it. My third finally did! 🙂
I would have to say either the FP Grand Dollhouse, Step 2 Play Kitchen, or Step 2 Play House Cottage. Neither one of my girls use them the way they were meant to be used!
My oldest son loves anything construction, so I bought him a hard hat for his birthday. When he opened it, he acted like, “what is this for?” He didn’t show any interest in it for several days. But now, he loves to where it almost everywhere we go.
Cabbage Patch dolls, just wasn’t as sophisticated as the dolls they have these days I guess
Well, we didn’t actually BUY it, but my husband brought home this GI-NORMOUS box from work (I’m 5’2″ and it comes up to my neck). It made for an awesome playhouse! I cut out windows and a door (it’s like 4 cardboard boxes thick too. It was a workout to cut out the windows and such), painted it all up, and set up a tea party on the inside for my daughter (she’s almost two now). When she got home from her grandma’s and saw it, she kinda gave it a once over and walked out of her room. She then proceeded to sit in front of the living room T.V. and ask to watch her favorite show “Bubble Guppies.” Lol…Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed.
I got my son the baby Einstein bouncer. I went to three sams clubs until I finally got it found it. Well when I bring it home he refuses to get in it . He was sooo scared of it.
Army men are unappreciated at my house 🙁
Hello, I would love to be in the giveway please!
I got my 4 year old a leap frog and if i dont buy him a new game for it like every month he just wont play with it!
A bed for her babies……she thinks the rabbit belongs in it. Poor bunny good thing he’s willing to go along with anything lol.
The squinkies. I bought those little things knowing full well that they were a bad idea…but she wanted them sooo much! Now they just get left on the floor and clog up the vacuum !
Let’s Rock Elmo – I couldn’t wait for him to open it, he opened and played with it maybe that day and now only friends play with it when they come over.
We bought our son a wagon thinking it would be the greatest toy ever. We used it as a toy box for the first six months we had it and now it just sits in the garage. Kind of a bummer, but I’m glad that he enjoys walking and riding his bike more than riding in the wagon! 🙂
when my kids were younger I bought what I thought was the coolest outside playset, they barely played on it and thought it was boring!
I got a great deal on a vtech bike that you plug into the tv. My 3 year old likes it but totally doesnt get it. She refuses to peddle forward just backwards and so when she is on it all I hear is the backup Beep Beep Beep sound. Im pretty sure she wont go forward because she thinks it needs to make that sound or its not working
When my oldest was a baby I got him a nice infant swing. He absolutely hated it. If I even tried to put him in it, he was scream. Same thing happened with my daughter…and now every time we go to the park, what do they want to do? Swing!
Tickle me Elmo, hardest thing to find and my son was soooooooooo afraid of it. I was so disappointed.
Little Tykes water fountain, I thought for sure it would be a wonderful summer toy. It sprays water up into the air, did not like it at all!
I got my son a plastic grill. He opened it up and took off with the box instead.
I found what i thought was a great toy at the pawn shop which was a sega genius and my five year old looked at me christmas morning an said mom what is this
Sit and Spin, I loved mine, why can my three year old not get it? The 1 year old loves it though.
So my daughter wanted a tricycle for her birthday and my grandparents were all over it. They went out and bought her a Schwinn trike and spent a ton of money on it. Well, then I needed a trike for her physical therapy and my dad had found a “fixer-upper” at work. We painted it and recovered the seat and everything, maybe a $5 project at most. When they sit side by side, she prefers the $5 trike to the $75 one. So the Schwinn just sits in our garage acting as a helmet holder for 3 kids.
We were excited for my daughter’s first Christmas. She was more interested in the wrapping paper than the gifts, though!
My son loves Legos, yet, he refuses to build them or play with them on his own?!He will pull out the guys to play with, but the rest will just sit there in the box until his Dad or I help him build the set- and he’s 11! I wonder why we keep buying them for him?!
Chuck the Tonka truck and Tickle Me Elmo cause they scared him by talking he would scream and scream. We ended up giving then to his cousin.
I bought my kids a pool and all they were interested in was the big box that our new refrigerator came in.
I looked long and hard for a wood baby doll cradle for my daughter when my 2nd child was born, bc she was obsessed with putting her baby dolls in the new baby’s cradle. I finally found one at an antique shop that was a pretty penny and just her size. When she saw it though, she thought it was for the new baby and would scream whenever I told her to put her dolls in it. I was so excited that I found it and she was like “Whatever”!
When my child was little I bought her a furbie. They were the hot toy for Christmas that year. I thought it was so cute. She sat it on a shelf and ignored it. I later sold furbie on ebay.
Couple of years ago I got in the kick off finding toys I grew up with on ebay. I found brand new working ferbies. I loved them as a kid. My 7 and 5 year old just thought they were annoying.
My cousin and i used to play with my barbies for hours i had a whole trunk full, my mom still has some of them. My girls ages 7 and 6 however never took to them they rather play with their ds or wii.
Last Christmas I was so excited to buy my Son his first Art Easel. I went to Toys r Us like 2 days before Christmas, I was lucky to find one still. I bought the coloring sheets, markers, crayons, eveything for it and he doesn’t use it. He prefers to color on his table. I was so disappointed! So, its there in his room untouched.
I got my daughter Step2 Prepare and Share Kitchen Set, and was sure she would love it, I loved pretend play when I was a kid, but she doesn’t even look at it, my husband is telling me I should get rid of it 🙁
haha my 5 1/2 yr old thinks i’m nuts when i plug in into the t.v a plug and play with pac man on it, she always says mom why don’t you just go play the x-box lol & my 18 month old is into what ever his sister is 😉
We purchased the bike that plugged into the tv for my son. He was so funny & I thought it would help him learn his letters, etc. He only wanted to see how far he could get on the track & was not so interested in trying to learn things. LOL
i have picked up toys with all the bells and whistles, but the grandbaby wants the dog….lol
had been to a vintage/retro shop and found a “barrel of monkies”. i bought those for my youngest thinking since i loved it as a toy when i was young, she would too. yeah right. she just threw them around and i kept finding them everywhere. they ended up in a drawer. oh well. lol.
Holiday Barbie. I used to collect them and would like for dd to do the same. She didn’t understand why I wanted her to keep it in the box. She sees a Barbie and of course wants to take it out and play!
My son is 4 months old so he doesn’t have a lot of toys yet, but he does not get the exersaucer.
I have to say my collect of Barbie too, my grandchild just love Barbies she did just 2 week ago got in to them, by the time I seen her she had one open and playing with. Good thing I had 2 of the same , but now she wants them all. NO NO WAY
My son wanted a DS. Um… not while we’re getting out of debt. Sorry son. Maybe next year.
Toys are great and we have purchased a lot, but the box that lawnmower came in was the best toy of all and it last longer than some of the toys. I have a “WILD CHILD” that would love to go crazy on this toy. Count me in.
My son is pretty much happy with anything but loves his trucks with trailers didnt get the powerwheels I wanted to get him seeing that we are on a tight budjet with 8 children.
i got my daughter click clacks and i was so excited when i gave it to her i told her how they make them different now but i had them when i was little and showed her how to play with them and the whole time she just stood there and smiled at me while i played with them but never ask for her turn hahahaha!!!
I was so excited when I bought my son a plastic tool set and bench to match his daddys! He played with it for 20 minutes and now it just sits in his closet.
I bought my daughter a Baby Alive,I was so excited to give her this gift. She took one look at it and said “she’s to much work”….can I go outside to play with my brothers…go figure she rather be with her brothers getting dirty than feeding and cleaning a “doll”.
Bouncing Turtle…LOL. I didn’t know turtles could bounce??
Beats the heck out of your kid bouncing off the wall
I bought my daughter a FURREAL kitten when she was 5, she really wanted an all white one, I searched for 2 weeks at all the stores, they were completely sold out…then I went online and found one, spent almost $100.00 for it. They originally sold for about 30.00. Couldn’t wait for her to open it…when she did…she was thoroughly disgusted with it, she told me that it was UGLY! OMG, I was devastated, then I realized that I had purchased a knockoff, a FUREALZ kitten, it lasted 2 nights on her bed and then ended up on a yard sale table…it didn’t even purr, it sounded more like it was passing gas….lol. My husband still makes fun of me for that one and my daughter is 16 now…
How cute! I guess this goes along the storyline of “the Tortoise and the Hare”! I just dont know what the handle is supposed to be in relation to the Turtle! I guess little kids don’t think about things things like I would… Looks fun all the same!
We bought a ride on car for my son. He refused to even get on it.
My daughter loves to do my hair and so I bought her one of those barbie heads that you style her hair. I figured this was perfect she wouldn’t have to do my hair anymore. She told me it wasn’t the same she couldn’t make the barbie scream….lol!
Tigger that does cartwheels and talks. I thought it was the coolest thing when I was shopping one day!
We were trying to conceive and I knew my child would one day LOVE this toy as much as it made me laugh!
Over 4 years later we had our first child. It scared him and he still doesn’t like it. We have another child now and Tigger also scares him.
Poor Tigger! But he still makes me laugh 🙂
I bought my daughter a Fijit thinking she would love the way that it moved and lit up. She cried when she saw it.
For your youngest daughter, we got her a play kitchen….her big sister had one when she was her age, we figured, since we got rid of the old one we’d better get her one! Nope. She could have cared less, so it sat for 6 months! She plays with it now (she’ll be turning 3 in a matter of weeks) but had to realize they’re different kids and like different things and at different times too!
Well it’s hard to pick just one, lol! But one year I bought my daughters a doll house for Christmas figuring this would mean tons of fun, but nope they played with it for maybe 5 minutes and then didn’t touch it for months. The real kicker here is we went to a friends house and her daughter had the same doll house and suddenly they were interested and played for hours.
All my grandchildren seem to be more interested in the boxes and wrapping paper, more than the gifts I give to them!
I once bought my daughter a loom (she actually asked for it) and then she hated the thing — never finished even her first weaving.
The Bouncing turtle looks great!
Easy Bake Oven. She couldn’t figure out why it would be better to bake one than just get the cookie from the jar.
We bought my daughter a jumperoo and she never liked it. By the time she was tall enough to actually touch the floor when jumping in it, she was too heavy for it!
We got our daughter those mega blocks and all she does is just throwing them down the stairs. I guess mommy and daddy play more with them than she does LOL!
I brought my son a chia pet. I could not wait for it to start growing and he could of cared less about them. lol I have a 7 month old now that would just love the bouncing turtle.
A wooden rocking horse Every time we would go to a Farm store my two oldest would play with the mini rocking horse and throw a fit when i wouldn’t let them have it Well… we ended up getting a larger one for them and they never ride it just sits in a corner like a coat rack Guess they only liked it in the store !
My little one loves turtles!
With my first child I wanted all the vtech toys. I got her a vtech crawling ball. It was supposed to help her learn to crawl. My poor daughter was scared of the thing and would cry hysterically. Now she kicks it around like a soccer ball and complains that it hurts her feet. My 9 month old son try’s to play with it but my daughter tells him “no baby! That’s my ball!”
Ahahhahaha! I got my daughter a Tickle Me Elmo….I thought I was the bees knees for actually getting my hands on one – yeahhhh, she really didn’t care one bit! 😉 HAHA! The Bouncing Turtle looks great! 🙂
I got my son a Lite Brite. He’d seen it on tv and was excited for it then…brought it home….NADA!!!
Bought my 4 months old a jumper and she cries every time i put her in.
I purchased one of the “old school” phone toys, you know the ones with the eyes and stuff. My daughter had no use at all for it. I on the other hand thought it was great that a toy I loved as a child is still being sold.
We scored an awesome deal on that Furreal dog that was popular last year on Black Friday. We hid it away in our bedroom closet for a month until Christmas. The silly thing barked and whimpered everytime you’d get anywhere near the closet….she even heard it a few times! I thought she would love it, but had almost zero interest. I guess nothing is as good as the real thing!
Bought my nephew lego duplos for his birthday, but his dad is the only one that builds with them!
The easy bake oven – thought she would love that since I love to cook and bake and she is always trying to help me out!
My daughter would always go for the box. I bought her once last year for xmas a Spongebob theme toy organizer (from cyber Monday, of course) and all she wanted was the box because of the cartoon character o.O
My daughter is completely freaked out by her tickle me Elmo. She is starting to figure out that it is not going to come and get her!
Tickle me elmo…we searched everywhere for that crazy thing and ended up paying way to much for it because i thought she just had to have it….and it scared her to death LOL she kicked it and ran and jumped up on the couch and screamed…never would have anything to do with the thing.
A very expensive Toy Train Table that my husband and I put together Christmas Eve (actually Christmas since it was 2 am when we quit) and my son could care less. He loves trains, but I guess would rather tear it down then use it. I am selling it to make room for boxes because he’d rather build forts! ha!
I bought my daughter a baby gym and the only use it has gotten has been as a sword to fight with each other. I never would have imagined that would be what they used it for!
My kids seem to love boxes more than anything, but when my daughter was younger I was so excited when I got her a sit and spin. When I had it all together, I showed it to her (it had her favorite character at the time on it, Dora). She stared at it for a bit, ran away and brought her tea cup and tea pot back. She sat down and decided to have tea time. She used the spinner as a table, but I thought to myself “at least she’s playing with it” haha!!
my daughters 1st bday is monday and this seems like alot of fun for her 🙂 even tho she wont care about her presants she likes the paper and boxes but idc as long as she has fun
due to their age at the time i thought it would be better to get them a leapster than a nintendo ds they took one look and said “mom you got the wrong one” lol
Building blocks, what a waste of money
Vtech laptop. My daughter received it when she was 1 and she used it to bang on things. lol
This turtle looks pretty cool and with my sons 1 year bday around the corner…maybe he can bang things w/it! 😀
I bought a set of Lego for my son 2 years ago and he loves it a lot.
My kids need good learning toys. dont have any that they like. i would like to win this
I buy v-tech laptop for my daughter and she love it.
we bought our son a Lego duplo and he was trying to put two legos together but had a hard time, he just started to throw them away….lol
I would love this new toy for my grandchildren! It seems most toys for kids are not played with as intended, those young minds have a way of creating the most imaginary fun and joy 🙂
We got our grand daughter a Disney Princess Vanity last year for Christmas, thinking she would love it. She ended up liking the vanity we had at our house better. That one my mom found at a yard sale for $ 1. LOL!! We have another grandchild on the way so I would love to win this!
I bought my son the new LeapPad & he played it for a couple minutes. Then asked to play a real video game!!
Got a Slinky because we loved them as a child. I don’t think it ever was used.
I love Chia pets but todays kids often dont have the patience to watch it grow. I was the only excited one.
I got my daughter a Hannah Montana beach house for her bday when she was 6 and she had more fun climbing into the big box and coloring Windows and doors on the box lol.
That is funny- a wild turtle?? Sounds fun though! Thanks!
Forgot to put the toy part- I bought Lincoln Logs for my kids- cause we loved them growing up- they haven’t really shown much interest!
Would love this for my little sweetie!!
We got my LO a a ride on Mini Cooper (the powerwheels) thinking “oh yeah she’ll go everywhere!! Just like we did!” She still will not go anywhere in it. BUST!!
We just got one of our little ones a glow worm creature!!! I was SO excited because I had a glow worm when I was younger and absolutely LOVED it. She, however, wasn’t nearly as excited as I was to have it. Maybe in time, but for now looks like it’s me that it’s entertaining 🙂
I was so excited to get my son a rattle & roll car one year for easter. I had stacked a Target coupon with a manufacturer coupon, so I got a great deal on it. I just knew he would enjoy hours of shaking the rattle & chasing after the car. I had visions of him laughing at the “vroom, vroom” sounds the car made before taking off. Easter morning we got it out , I showed him how to shake the rattle to make the car go, as soon as the car started up he began screaming & climbed up me liked he was trying to escape the crazed car that was going to attack him! I have gotten that car back out from time to time over the last year thinking, this time he’ll get it….nope. He’s scared to death of the thing. Scarred him for life!
I got LEGO’s for my son thinking that all kids like LEGO’s and he would use his imagination to make some really cool things, but that didn’t happen…they barely came out of the box, and some I don’t think were ever opened.
Would love to win this to give to my little neice for her birthday! Thanks for the chace!
I got my son a imaginanext set that was awesome he loves it.
I got my son a tag junior and a book and he totally threw it down. Now he loves it but then it was jsut too early ^_^
When my oldest son was younger we got him a ride on 4 wheeler and he hated it!The noise scared the crud out of him! Now i know to think about how lound stuff is haha.
A 50$ transformer that they looked at for 2 minutes and never played with again. Also just about anything they have in their room!
I bought my son a magnadoodle and he kept looking at me how do I turn it on. He was only 2 but his older brother is 10.
for my son’s first xmas we bought him his first basketball goal he played with the box more than he played with the ball and goal lol
I got my kids a ball pit thinking they would get in the cloth zip up turtle to play with the balls but were so afraid that whenever i put my little one he jumped right out… I thought it was cool at least!
Last year for my daughters third birthday, we got her an Alphie. She had seen it on tv and had been begging for it for well over a month! So we got it for her figuring she would have hours of learning fun. Even got her the extra cartridges. Yea, not so much. She has played with it maybe a hand full of time :/. Her father and I both had one as kids and loved them!!!
my niece just turned 2, I got her a people puppets, she loves puppets but perhaps its a little too old for her still. Though she loves her elmo puppet
We bought our son the remote control Buzz Lightyear a couple years ago. He really wanted it and once he got it, he played for a few minutes and was over it. Totally anticlimactic! My husband, however, loved playing with it!!
I thought my grandson would LOVE Alphie the robot like my kids did years ago but instead his mom and i have gotten more use out it trying to get him to play with it and he just looks at us like we have finally lost our minds.
With my sister who’s 17 years younger than me it was books, she was so mad I didn’t get her a game. I had to talk her into reading them, she’s been in love with reading ever since!! My babies are still pretty little so they just love all the boxes! 🙂
I got my son a little wagon with duplo blocks and he didn’t plan with it once! Go figure!
I really can’t think of a toy that my kids didn’t like… Guess I’ve been lucky in choosing the toys… I would so love to win this one!!! Thanks for a chance…
Definately Lincoln Logs, my son just loves to dump them out and walks away. He is only 3.
I grew up with the Penguin Slide (the penguins walk up the stairs and slide down). I finally found one online and purchased it. I was so excited to get it, I opened it, set it up and called the kids over. They looked at it for about a minute and left!! It’s ok, it’s all mine now!! : )
I bought my daughter the laugh and learn puppy. I was so excited, especially because I found it in pink. Not only is my daughter completely not interested, the thing is freaky! Long after my daughter goes to bed, my husband and I will be sitting in the living room and all of a sudden it will out of nowhere say “Let’s play!” My husband says it’s the equivalent of the Chucky doll. He hates the thing! Definitely won’t be buying anymore animated stuffed animals!!
When my son was younger hed had a Batman car that he played with all the time. He loved that batman car, or so i thought. As a punishment for not picking his toys up after being asked many times to do so, I had the brainy idea to gather them all up in garbage bag and tell him I was throwing them away. Of course I knew the breaking point would be that Batman car. I just knew that as soon as he saw that going into that big black bag he would cry and come tearing over to start cleaning up. Never happened. Of course I didn’t throw out all the toys either. I hid them for a couple weeks and when they magically reappeared, he never looked at that Batman car again. He had completely lost interest.
thank you, would be great for my niece…
I got my son Lincon Logs. I was so excited to build with them (with him of course 😀 ) He totally did not get them. He couldn’t figure out how to build with them, he knocked my buildings over almost immediately, and now he just uses the logs as drum sticks lol
Would love to win this.
My nephew is obsessed with dinosaurs so when I found one that was on a stick like a pony and when you pressed the ear it roared I was ecstatic. Brought it to him , even gave it to him 2 days early and when I pressed the button he screamed in terror and started saying DinoRex bite Ga (his name for my mother) He hates it and won’t play with it at all.
A few years ago I bought my grandson one of those popping ball toys where the balls blow out and I thought it was the cutest thing. Well…..my grandson did not agree. Every time we turned it on and the balls blew out he screamed and screamed. He was like 2 years old before he would have anything to do with it.
Lollalopsy Doll!
We bought my son a Toys Story Little Quad and still to this day he doesn’t understand that you have to hold the button down for it to go, he just presses it over and over.
I haven’t come across a toy my kids didn’t enjoy.
I was excited to buy my son a kitchen set when he was 2 because he really had an interest in cooking. Well he used it as a spaceship instead…lol 🙂
We got our 2 sons, ages 3 and 5, Leap pads last year for Christmas. I waited countless times for Toys R us to get them. Finally got 2 about 2 weeks before the big day. They opened them. Played for like an hour then wanted my Christmas gift, a Kindle Fire. They almost never play their Leap pads.I was so excited because i LOVE Leap Frog products. I should have just gotten them Kindle Fires.
I got my oldest son (5 yrs old) the trio blocks castle and everything that goes with it last year for Christmas. Christmas eve I spent hours building it. He tore it apart and immediately made guns out of the blocks. He still enjoys the “guns”
I bought my daughter a little mermaid makeup vanity. I was so excited bc it sang and lit up and she loved make up stuff. Well Christmas morning she looked at it and started crying and said this doesn’t look like a kitchen where are the dishes. I cried with her …

I got my son the V-Tech laptop and he didn’t get it, and still doesnt, so he just presses the buttons on it and said forget the games/learning activities.
I bought my daughter the game Elefun game for Christmas last year. I thought for sure she was going to love it, the commercials made it look like an awsome kids game. Unfortunately the darn thing din’t work anything like the tv commercial made it seem and it got repacked and returned later in the week. I was dubbed the dud gift giver for christmas last year. Now I have some redeeming to do this year!
A shape sorter that was a big sphere with like 12 different odd shapes. She got very frustrated because she didn’t know to keep turning it…. Maybe it was a little advanced for her when she was only not even a year yet!
elmo knows your name for my son when he was 2, he just loved it
I was excited when My son, Zachary, finally was old enough for me to get him a Mr. Potato Head. I loved this toy as a child and couldn’t wait to show him. When we went to play with it, he just kept telling me the toy was “broke” because all the pieces came off. I tried to explain the concept of “decorating” Mr. Potato Head. But I guess it got lost in the fact that we could not get the yellow glasses to stay on Mr. Potato Head’s nose. Wonder if he glasses were “broke”? lol
I got my son a plastic sheet toy that looked like a piano that lies down on the floor and when you walk across it it plays music. He just sat there and looked at it, then played with the box for a few days. It found a new home soon after.
I guess I’ve lucked out because my daughter hasn’t disliked any of the toys I’ve gotten her…But she’s not a big fan of the magnetic toy doll with interchangeable outfits, and I thought it was so cute! =)
No kids yet but I would love to win this for my nephew!
(Thank you for extending this! I tried couldnt comment and didnt come back later to see if the issue was fixed!)
I got my kids a wire/bead table. I have always wanted one, they are fun to push around like a roller coaster. My kids? Underwhelmed. (Although I have noticed some increase in activity)
I thought my son would love Legos that I bought for him, but he only really likes dumping them out of the box! What a mess!
I am a HUGE Tigger nut, so when it was my son’s 2nd Christmas, the Tumble Time Tigger was out. I’m pretty sure I played with it more than he did at first! (ok, I’m pretty sure I played with it more than he did period LOL.)
I got my kids a playdoh set I thought they would love! My oldest touched the playdoh once and thought it was yucky.
Please sir… My child is out of control!
Wow! That would be a long list of things. I bought him a fisher price mirror that had keys like a piano. All he did was hit the mirror with the microphone that came with it and then never played with it.
I bought Caden the laptop because he loved being on the computer with me and banging the keys. He didn’t pay one bit of attention to it.LOL..But now he would love that turtle! His birthday is next month so I am hoping!

My kids always like the boxes & wrapping paper. 🙂
Hmmm its not a toy but I had very close matching outfits for pic I was so happy about them Amy my son loved to play with the hangers they came on
A Slip N Slide, but I do have to say it stated on the box for ages 5 & Up and they are only 2 and 3 but they had a blast playing in the mud from the water run off,and then would get on the Slip N Slide to rinse off all the mud.It was cute seeing them Waller in the mud like a couple of little Pigs.
I got my son a push-to-go walking toy. It has a little compartment on the front and he only plays with the toy when he wants to hide smaller toys in the compartment!!!
My sons are grown but I have a normally very appreciative 8 yr old niece that I bought a pot holder loom and loops for, remembering how much I enjoyed making them as a child myself at her age.
She looked at me with that “you gotta be kidding” look on her face.
I sat down with her and showed her how to hook the cloth loops on the loom and then started weaving them in and out to create the pot holder.
She looked at me and said, “have fun, Aunt Joann, I’m going to play with my Wii”
Don’t have to tell you who finished the pot holder :-/
Thanks for the opportunity to enter for the turtle. If I win, it will be donated to the kids at the local domestic violence shelter . http://www.facebook.com/womenscommunity
They are my fav charity to pass on my winnings to. And they are filled up to the brim with displaced families so they would really appreciate receiving it.

TURTLE! TURTLE!
when my oldest got a sit in spin she had no idea what to do…and trying to teach her was hilarious.
We bought our youngest son a remote control puppy that followed you, barked and taught colors and shapes. He was not interested in it at all. It sat in his closet for over a year. I pulled it out and was planning on selling it in a yard sale when he saw it and said it was his “most favorite toy”. Uh, yea, right! LOL!
I got my son a little seat so he could be comfortable playing his games for christmas, I thought he would love it. NO Go Its still sitting in a corner collecting dust. He said he is a big boy and doesnt need a chair to sit in when he has the floor.
Thought my son would LOVE operation but nope! He just didn’t get it. 🙁 Although I would love to win this toy for my little princess who turns one on Sunday 🙂
Always bought the grandsons vtech LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table but they did not play with it. They would just put other toy on it..
In the early 90’s when my son was about 4 years old, I bought him and his older sister the ‘My Buddy’ dolls, they were popular back then and pretty good sized, his was the boy version and he would have nothing to do with it…kept throwing it down the basement stairs. He had seen the commercials for the ‘Chucky’ movie and thought that’s what the doll was…I think I ended up selling ‘Chucky’ in a garage sale.
The fisher price remote she figured it didn’t change channels
My daughter would LOVE this! Thanks for being so great!
I would love to get this for my sisters future foster children
my babies could play with this they share so well thankyou for the chance
My husband and I got our son that Rock n Roll Elmo doll for Christmas this past year because he loved Elmo so much and I was so excited to see the look on his face when he opened the package… After getting Elmo out, he just kind of looked at it, stuck his fingers in Elmos mouth while it moved a couple of times and didn’t go near it again.
I bought my son a fifty follies pirate ship that I thought he would just love. He played with it for five mins and now it just sits there. I was so excited to give it to him.

This would be an amazing thing to have for my son.
I got my son a dinosaur ball popper for Christmas and he is afraid of it! It makes noise and pops the balls all over and he just wants to get the balls (when he is brave enough to get near it) and eat them!
My cousin just had a baby 4 months ago and this would be perfect to give him for his birthday next year. I heart the Mart is so awesome.
This would be a great gift for my grandson!
my daughter thinks if the toy has handle it’s meant for swinging like a bat. so all of her toys we buy now have no handles, unless they are not swindle.
an atari. I thought he would love it as much as i did but he preferres the wii Mario
A coloring book which was mostly torn up!
The gift I got my son was a star wars magnetic game and I was super excited to give him and he didn’t realize why I was so happy to give it to him. I got it on clearance. Thanks for the give away.

I got my son a huge Thomas the Train pop up tent that he had been begging me for. Turns out, once he got it, it was no longer desirable.
I got my daughter the LeapFrog books that fit into the interactive lap pad thing. You push buttons every time you turn the page and different buttons on the page for different “levels”. I think it was a bit much and she never really “got it” or used it. She would end up on the wrong page a lot. 🙂
When my oldest daughter was younger she got a ton of Little People for christmas. I thought she’d love them, but it didn’t go over as well as I though. She loves them now, maybe she was just too young.
Smurfs. The funny blue people aren’t superheros. They wont watch the movie or play the toys with me. My 3 year old takes them all out of the toybox and says here these are yours.
My son is 2 and he is the craziest, silliest, awesome child. He is very wild and would love this.
The toy I got for my grandson I thought he would love and tracked down in the store for was the Playskool poppin park bounce n ride. My grandson tried to put his body inside of a large size barbie car made to travel a barbie and wanted to scoot in it. So I bought him the pop n park so he could sit n skoot with ease. I was thinking he would love it but all ge did was stand in front of the park n ride and play with the toy on the handle bars lol

My son is 22 yrs old, but he was always hyper and didn’t like to sit still to put things together. We bought hime a “Fisher Price” mountain and tracks for Christmas when he was 2 1/2 and He would just watch me play. He seemed to look at it as work to put it together and imagine it was a real train. I kept it forever hoping he would like it eventually, but never fell for it.
I got my daughter this little dog that barks because she loves our real dog so much I figured it would save our poor little pug from getting her fur pulled, I was wrong not only did my daughter hate it and scream, but the dog hated it too 🙂
For my son’s Birthday we remodeled his whole room changing it from CARS theme to TRANSFORMERS. We bought him a few Action Figures (bed spread and curtains and a few posters) that I thought were really AWESOME. We bought him mostly Bumble Bee toys. I found this really AWESOME BIG Bumble Bee Action figure that lights up and shoots stuff. I was so excited to give it to him…. He advised me he likes Optimus Prime and has yet to play with it till this day. It’s sitting on a shelf in his room.

My granddaughter would love this! It’s been too long for me to remember what I bought for my boys and they didn’t get it and that I loved! Although now, they just shake their heads and sigh.
i would have to say for my situation i wanted to get my 1st born a swing for his 1st bday, but due to finances at the time it just wasnt going to happen then luckily 3 months later my husband won a 75$ GC to sears and we got him a winnie the pooh swing and i never felt happier =)

What toy did you get for your child that you were the most excited about and your kid just completely didn’t get it?
I have a wild one here! 😀 He had a bouncy Exersaucer when he was small but outgrew it and misses it SOOO bad. (He bounces on his butt on the floor now. lol)
As for the toy he doesn’t “get” it would have to be his shape barn. Instead of putting the different shaped blocks through the holes he bashes everything together… and even though it’s not a toy he doesn’t pick up his food off the tray either, instead he smashes it with his fist. haha!
Thanks so much!
Stephanie
I loved the Sit-n-Spin as a child. Our eldest didn’t take to it like I thought he would.
My 4 kids got a mickey mouse band set. They loved the drum because they thought it was a step stool! The drum is now broken and they like to hit each other with the other instruments:)

For Easter the bunny got him a bath tub bubble maker. I thought it was brilliant since he loves bubbles. Not only does he not “get it”….the thing terrifies him. Oh well…..ya win some ya lose some! I put it in the closet hoping he will feel differently about it some day.
The V-Motion. I thought it was the coolest thing ever and it turned out to be the biggest waste of money. Neither of my two youngest wanted anything to do with it!!
my 18 months old would really go nuts over this plus it would be something that was his since he gets all hand me downs from his sister that still wants to play with all the hand me downs lol
Barbie camper.
I was so hyped when my kids reached the candy land age. I got them so many board games from when I was a kid! All the game pieces ended up becoming missiles for a home version of halo. Dream squashed. Oh well, I tried. Hope I win, my little guy would love this. 😉
EZ Bake Oven
Recently got my 4 year old a Disney princess bike with matching helmet, gloves and pads. I was so excited for her to see and when the time came she just said “oh, thank you” She wasn’t even excited. She doesn’t like trying to ride the bike at all 🙁

We bought our daughter one of those power wheel Jeeps 2 yrs ago. She was 3 at the time. We were so excited to get it for her. She didn’t care for it at that time I think because of how loud they are. Now at age 5, when she wants to go somewhere and I just don’t feel like leaving the house, she says she can drive and take me in her car.
I have 6 grandbabies and haven’t find 1 toy that they don’t like.Would love to win this turtle toy. Thanks
When I was younger, I liked the ” skip it ” my kids just didn’t understand putting this thing around you ankle, twirling it around and jumping over it with the other foot. They laughed at me! Lol. Anyway, I have a baby due soon and would live to have this for her! 🙂
The Little Turtle Sandbox with purple sand . I bought it for my grandchildren they added water from the pool and it created a mess everywhere we even found sand in the dryers lint drawer. I love V Tech

I would like to introduce “The Swingset.” The Swingest originally joined our family about 2 years ago just prior to our bundle of joy being introduced into this world. “The Swingset” has been moved 3 times in our yard, mind you, it takes about 7 people to pick up it up and move it comfortably and since it was a used one that was in a development, we’ve put a lot of time and money to make it safe and look nice. ” Those rock climbing (plastic) rocks are expensive!”2 Years later, 3/4 of the way finished, and my bundle of joy would rather pick up sticks and rocks than play on it! I’m hoping that 1-my daughter will grow into it, and 2-My husband doesn’t say “I told you so!”
For Christmas, I had my husband go 1 hour and a half to get a remote control Disney Cars airplane, which was pricey for us, about $40. Our 4 year old son opened it, glanced at it for 2 seconds, then swiftly proceeded to the next present! After all the gifts were opened, his FAVORITE present was a set of 3 mini stuffed animals that I got him as a stocking stuffer for a just few bucks! lol Sometimes, its the little things!

i recently bought my 7 month old a vtech stand up play table that was on clearance at my Walmart a couple weeks ago for $10 down from $39.99 but she thinks that you are supposed to walk around using it as a walker.
Boxes are always more fun than any toy we bought my niece!
I was so excited about buying my nephew a Mr Bucket years ago, he was happy until we turned it on and then ran away screaming like he was being chased! Total fail!
bought some baby books that looks really cute with colours and wonderful pictures for my little niece but end up the book did not last for more than 5 minutes…
I saved to buy my oldest son one of those baby Einstein activity tables. I was soooo excited thinking he would love it and it would encourage him to stand/walk. Well he wanted absolutely nothing to do with it, I would constantly encourage and show him what to do. he is now almost 3 and finally plays with it! Lol.
I bought my son a sing a ma jig and at first he really liked it but now he is afraid of it.
Funny thing is I was looking at this very item today… my grandson turns 1 next month and I was thinking about getting it for him. But the toy that I bought for my kid was about 28 years ago… I got her a smurf mobile… I loved it and she grew to love it 🙂
We bought our son the Fisher Price Song and Story Chair. He didn’t understand what he was supposed to do, so he would just throw it around the room, lol.
I bought him a spinning racetrack. He is only 1, but he totally doesn’t get it and sits in it instead. Maybe he will understand it when he was older. However, he truly is a wild man, so I think he would love this toy!
I bought my son a tag Jr. he couldn’t figure out to read the little books with it, so he just walked around turning it in and off. “hi, Aedan!” Over and over. He would scream if I tried to take it away. He is older and loves using it but it was a rough start!
I find this so funny, it looks like the kid should bounce but I would not expect him to bounce on a turtle, lol. I got him the kicking coaster and everything about it he should love, just don’t for some reason!
We gat my son a play tool bench when he was just to young for it. He just wanted to chew on it.
The toy that I really wanted when I was a kid but got my daughter now is a glo-worm! She loves it, too!

I can’t even recall how many times I was more excited about the toy than they were… meanwhile, they have a blast with the empty cardboard box!
My nephew would love this!! Thank you!
I bought a set of lincoln logs for my two little one and was so excited to see my babies play with something that brought me so much joy as a kid. My little boy being 1 and my little girl being 2 they think I’m crazy. I play with them more than they do. I hope that they learn to love them some day. 🙂

I got my little girl a rocking horse. She used once and didnt want it anymore. 🙁
I bought a fisher price dollhouse with all the furniture and people (the vintage kind that takes imagination to work) but because it didn’t make any sounds or have flashing lights it wasn’t played with for at least 2 years… I bought it when she was 2.
Living in Texas its super hot! My baby boy absolutely loves the swimming pool. We only have a community pool, so that’s where we spend a bunch of time. Thinking I would save myself, dragging 3 kids down every day, I bought one of those kiddie pools. My son hates it …he sees it and screams. If he walks around the corner and if it’s there he screams. Guess he only likes the big pool?
Lol. I got my 16 month old a new “toy” today. We made an ocean sensory box with a plastic bin and some aquarium gravel and a bunch of neat shells and plastic plants and then filled it with water. I was soooo excited about it…..he was too….for TWO MINUTES. lol. That was it. Oh well. I am SURE he would love a toy like this one though. He has started to try climbing onto things so I am sure he would love this!
I got him a table that had a lot of different games so I had it on the box and once it was his birthday I was really excited because is what I thought it was a great toy so he can have fun well he didn’t like it I think he liked it more in the box then outside the box.
my “wild child” would love this!!!
My son got a mickey mouse ride on toy for his first birthday. I thought it was so awesome but he didnt know what to do with it lol but boy does he know how to ride it now
I bought my son a “train table” that did not have the tracks drawn on it so it was just a white table with a green removable top to him. I tried to show him how awesome it was to put the train tracks together on the table and drive them around. He flat out told me that trains DO NOT go on the table, only on the ground. Needless to say I ended up selling it cause he refused to play with his trains on that table.
My long-legged wild child would definitely have fun with this!
A rip stick…I was so excited the 10 yr old not so much!
My son had the one of these and these toys last such a long time. My daughter used it as well. The kids would play on this for hours. We also love our V-tech hand held’s. Great toys for any age. Educational and fun!!!!! LOVE V-TECH
