How to Coupon and Price Match at Walmart
Tonight the kids and I went to the store to use some of the coupons that were expiring and to use a few of the Gain $3 coupons! Plus, I had to return a paper that I bought earlier in the day that did not have the inserts in it!
My total before coupons was $80.22 and after coupons it was $4.77. I would have actually been negative because my store allows you to get overage so I tossed in some trash bags at the end to make sure I had a balance left over.

Love it!!! There are always awesome deals to be had: I bought 19 Dove Deodorants and 5 Gain 80ct dryer-sheets on 2/10/11 for under $13 total (instead of $63+)!!!! Already gave some away to some friends who always save coupons for me!!

You can buy the Sunday paper on Saturdays! Wal Mart has them, our $.99 store used to have them, and gas stations have them!

You can buy the Sunday early edition paper on Saturdays! They have the coupons in them!
You’re lucky, my store doesn’t do that …
It’s not the store- Newspaper companies publish an “Early Edition” it’s slightly different from the Sunday one.
Also a possibility is your neighborhood paper or your mailman brings them early…mine comes in Tuesdays mail.

Just about every store around here, the guys on the corner also have them, I personally like to buy from them. Walmart always has them, they sell out about 7pm on Saturday night.
Holy cow! How did I not know about this! That is awesome because I hate buying them on Sunday being that it is against my religion! I am sick of going to the gas station just before midnight! ha Thanks for this tip! Your seriously the best at saving money! : )

How many papers did you buy? Were all of the coupons out of the same paper?
Wow,where is everyone getting these $3 coupons for Gain?! I’m looking at my inserts & I didn’t find it. 🙁 I got a General Mills insert and a SmartSource insert and neither one have it!
YOu should have had a Red Plum.
I am so upset,I just called my newspaper company & told them I didn’t receive my Redplum insert & they said it is no longer a part of their newspaper. 🙁 I want my coupon!!
Oh wow, I am sorry. I have heard that when they stop carrying an insert in the paper you usually get it in the mail. Ask and see if that is the case for you.
She gave me the number for the Redplum customer service so I can call and ask to receive it in the mail. This is very upsetting but I am hoping for better luck in the future lol I can’t believe I am missing out on this deal! I am very jealous of you all! 😛

Thank you!! I always have problems in Walmart with the registers either not taking the correct amount of the coupon or beeping when the product would be free! Like yesterday, with the Athenos greek yogurt- they were $1 each, I had 2- $1/1 coupons and the cashier had to call a manager and stated that since it was free I couldn’t do it. I finally got my way, since I was right….but you didn’t seem to have any issue with the Maalox coupons! 🙂 I am heading to get some more Gain Dryer sheets today! 🙂
That coupon beeped and the register said basically to make sure it was a valid coupon at $5. She checked my coupon and checked the Maalox bottles I got and hit enter.
Nice- the cashier always has a thing print out saying I did not purchase the product. Then she had to key it in manually. I am hoping for better luck next time! 🙂
I dont get the smart source in my papers, could i call them and get them mailed to me?

how are you getting so many coupons for each product? do you buy multiple papers?
We get/buy 10-12 papers a week.
Hell2theyeah!!!…I love getting O’s lol…really big ones too!!! however not all cashiers love coupons…so I have my cashiers on my cell phone lol!!! love your site…and there is no way I take my kids with me shopping…lol…ur brave!!!

Awwwww GREAT shopping trip! I take my kiddos too, and ALWAYS get asked, are they ALL yours?? I only have 5 with 1 on the way and YUP, they’re all mine! LOL

Just wondering because on other sites for Wal-mart I seem to encounter a big difference in prices or at times they roll it back like 4 weeks later than when other deal-goers post them!
Also I have had problem with my paper getting lazy and omitting 1 insert per week. Last week it was red plum (i was mad) This week it came with red plum and SS but no general mills (no big deal because those are usually save $1 on 3 or 4 but still annoying)
I hope I can get the same deals as you becasue I never go to Wal-mart even though we are saturated with Wa-mart Like 3 Supercenters and 2 neighborhood markets with in a 4 mile radius.
I am just so used to target and they very rarely turn me down!
I am in the Houston area. Walmart is just that way, they are not consistent across the country. Most of the deals that you see here you should be able to find. I have found that most peoples prices are within 15% of mine.
LOL! Your not far from me. I’m in NE Texas. Love the video! I sometimes buy extra papers at the Exxon right up the road from my house. I also have home delivery of the Sunday paper. Well sometimes the ones from the store DO NOT have the inserts! It makes me so mad to drive back up there and return them. I finally contacted the customer service manager from the newspaper to report the problem I’ve been having. You know what they emailed me back with?! “We’re sorry, but you get the Sunday newspaper already delivered to your home. Coupons are SUPPOSE to be one per household. Thank you”

I have a question about the Gain 3/1 coupon. My WalMart did not have the $3.12 package, only the $1.87 package so that is what I bought. I thought that I was going to either get overage or a price adjustment on the coupon. The cashier scanned my coupon. It didnt beep or anything, but she realized that the coupon was more than the actual price; therefore she voided my whole transaction & called the manager over. They gave me the coupon back and would not adjust the price saying it’s against their policy. So when I got home, I read your FAQ section for the policy and WalMart didnt say anything about that so now I am confused. Are they allowed to do price adjustments? Also, do companies lose money when consumers get “overage”? Thank you for your time!
LOVE the Video!! I would like to suggest that while the cashier is scanning the coupons that we watch the cashier closely or hand each and every coupon over to them one by one as they do make mistakes!!
