UPDATE: This deal is dead DG has put signs up that the deal was a misprint and Walmart doesn’t match misprint ads.
Dollar General has a sale in their Weekly Ad the says you can get all sizes and counts for only $9.50. Slow down, don’t start the car just yet. There are a few things that you should know or be prepared for and I will add my two cents in.
1. I know the Ad does say All Counts and Sizes, it is however missing some key info. The first issue is that it doesn’t say what sizes Dollar General carries, that means that a manager is well within his rights to not honor the ad.
2. Walmart gives their managers a lot of discretion to what deals that will allow to be price matched. They can just say no if they want to on any price match deal.
3. If you are able to match this deal at your store and the manager finds out that DG doesn’t even carry the boxes then you will probably not be really happy with changes in difficulty that could be forth coming in the future.
I don’t think that any one deal is worth ruining a relationship with your Walmart over. I honestly don’t believe that DG carries the boxes of diapers and if that is true then you should be what makes the decision easy for you.
I am not going to tell you what to do, just what I would do and want to stress the longterm effects of what could be a big loser for Walmart.
If you are going to Dollar General to get this deal, be sure to print your coupons!
I would actually recommend doing the Kroger deal, it is pretty darn awesome!
Who cares if Wal Mart, a multi billion dollar company is a loser on this one deal… You think any of the Waltons are going to be hurting due to this one exploit? Happy hunting to all of the parents still needing diapers! I hope you are able to stick it to em big time
Billy, that is a very short sided and ignorant comment. What do you think happens when Walmart gets it stuck to them? they make policy changes and things get harder for honest people. It is that kind of entitlement mentality that is ruining our country. Ad matching is a great policy and helps millions of people save money, there is no need to cheat, steal or abuse the policy.
