Just when we thought we were caught up with all the new policies and changes (like the Walmart Savings Catcher Program changes) Dollar General throws us for a loop. From what I heard these changes took place in December but now they will accept overage!
This does not mean take all your coupons to Dollar General and clear the store hoping for a huge payday but what it does mean if you can apply the overage to other items in your cart! (No cash back will be given)
Here is what the official policy has to say: (You can find and print the Dollar General Coupon Policy here)
“If a coupon value is more than the price of the item, the remaining value will be applied to the balance of the transaction. Coupon overage can only be applied to the balance and will not be given back at the end of the transaction. Coupon overages will only be applied to the store merchandise remaining in the transaction and cannot be applied to gift cards, pre-paid money cards or phone cards. Other restrictions may apply.”
Here’s an example deal you can do right now to get a little overage on your other item:
