I hope everyone has a wonderful time spending the season with family and friends. Now that Christmas is over and the gifts are unwrapped, some of you might need to make some returns. Whether you have a duplicate gift, a gift that is the wrong color, size, type or you have no idea why someone that loves you so much would ever think to get you something so…wrong.
If you received a beautiful sweater like the one above, don’t lie and say you love it. Just return it, you know you are never going to wear it anyway. Here is the plans and policies to help make your returns a little easier.
Making a return to *WALMART*
If you bought something at a Walmart store and need to return or exchange it, you can take it back to any Walmart store, not just the one where it was purchased.
For most items, we accept returns within 90 days after purchase.

Here’s how to return your item to a store:
- Bring the item you wish to return to the Customer Service desk.
- Be sure to also bring all original packing materials and accessories.
- If available, bring the receipt that came with the item.
No receipt? No problem
We do accept returns without a receipt. You will have the option of a cash refund (if the purchase was under $25), a shopping card for the amount of the purchase (if it was over $25) or an even exchange for the product. Also, as applicable, we follow any manufacturer’s warranties.
Making returns at *Target*
- Most unopened items in new condition and returned within 90 days will receive a refund or exchange.
- Some items have a modified return policy noted on the receipt or packing slip, the Target policy board (refund exceptions), Target.com or in the item department. This will also be displayed during the checkout process if purchased on Target.com.
- Items that are opened or damaged or do not have a packing slip or receipt may be denied a refund or exchange.
- All bundled items must be returned with all components for a full refund. Bundle components may not all have the same return policy. Please check your packing slip for details.
Replacements are only available for the exact same item and must be shipped to the same address as the original order using the same shipping method.
Returns and exchanges without a receipt may be limited. Other restrictions may apply.
- Open music, movies, video games and software cannot be returned, but may be exchanged at the store for the same title, for the same or different gaming platform.
- Open airbeds cannot be returned, but may be exchanged for a similar item.
- Open or defective collectibles (e.g., sports cards, special edition Barbie dolls, porcelain dolls, action figures and die-cast cars) cannot be returned.
- All Electronics and Entertainment items must be returned within 30 days for a refund or exchange. For these items purchased between 11/1 – 12/25, the 30-day refund period will start on 12/26.
- Contract cell phones purchased at a Target store must be returned/exchanged within 14 days and may be subject to early termination fees per carrier contract. Contract cell phones and carrier plans must be sold and returned by a Target Mobile Rep. Target Mobile Rep hours vary by store.
- Holiday items and limited-time-only collections may have modified return policies.
- Target stores cannot accept international returns or exchanges, including international returns and exchanges of online purchase.
- Target debit and credit REDcard card holders will receive an extra 30 days to return nearly all items purchased with their REDcard at Target and Target.com. See Target.com/REDcard for full details and exclusions.
- Items purchased at Optical, Pharmacy, Starbucks and Target Mobile must be returned or exchanged at these areas.
- Target Mobile Gift Cards, and Target eGiftCards cannot be returned or redeemed for cash or credit except where required by law.
- Digital music downloads cannot be returned or refunded.

Making returns at *Best Buy*
You can return or exchange almost everything within 15 days for a full refund. Simply bring your item(s) to us with all contents and packaging, proof of purchase and ID, and we will process your return or exchange. For more information check out Best Buy’s website
Making returns at Kohl’s
Kohl’s is proud to offer our “No Questions Asked – Hassle-Free” return policy for all purchases.
- There are no time restrictions for returns.
- No receipt is needed for Kohl’s Charge purchases. Currently our store Associates can locate Kohl’s Charge purchases up to 12 months after the purchase date, and the credit can be applied to your account. Non-Kohl’s Charge purchases, or purchases made outside the 12 month timeframe qualify for a Kohl’s Merchandise Credit or a corporate-issued refund.
No receipt? No problem. Just bring the item you’d like to return or exchange to the Customer Service Desk of any Kohl’s store near you, and we’ll take care of the rest.
No Receipt*:
- A refund on your original tender if you paid with a Kohl’s Charge or any other major credit card
- An even exchange
- A Kohl’s Merchandise Credit based on the lowest 13-week sale price
- A corporate-issued refund
*Purchases that earn Kohl’s Cash coupons or purchases in which Kohl’s Cash coupons were tendered will result in an adjusted refund amount and/or decreased coupon value.
With a Receipt*:
- A cash or credit refund based on your method of payment
- An even exchange
- A Kohl’s Merchandise Credit
- A corporate-issued refund
*Purchases that earn Kohl’s Cash coupons or purchases in which Kohl’s Cash coupons were tendered will result in an adjusted refund amount and/or decreased coupon value.
With a Gift Receipt:
- A Kohl’s Merchandise credit
- An even exchange

Making Returns at Macy’s
Returning to a store:
- Take your item(s) and the gift receipt or invoice to your local Macy’s for a full refund. You’ll receive credit in the form of a “Happy Returns” Gift Card.
- If you do not have the invoice or gift receipt, you’ll receive credit in the form of a “Happy Returns” Gift Card for the item’s lowest selling price within the last 180 days.
