My wife warned me that it was not a very exciting week at the drug stores. Walgreens is a little better than CVS but not much. You can price match AND use a coupon. If you are having trouble at your store doing this you can call corporate ( 1-800-Walmart) and ask them to speak with your manager about it.
The best price match deal this week in my opinion is the Walgreens Kettle Chip’s for $1.99, you can see that deal HERE.
You can go HERE to see the Walmart price match policy.

Hi Paul,
I didn’t see the Bayer aspirin deal on your post (maybe you posted it earlier). Walgreens has the low dose on sale for $0.99 and there is a coupon out there for $1 off any Bayer aspirin product. Sorry – don’t know the date of the insert (seems like it was a few weeks ago) or whether or not it was a regional one.
I had my first issue 3 nights ago at sawdust. I price matched optic white tooth paste and then tried to use a target coupon. The css wouldnt take it because “i already reduced the price with an ad match” I asked him if thats what the policy said or just his interpretation. He said it was policy. i then said I call your bluff, i happen to have the policy on my phone. he still refused. i walked out without the toothpaste and pissed off.
Holly I actually think he was right in this one. Because to use a competitors coupon it must state an actual price not just money off, therefor they price match the price on the coupon.
Hey does anyone know how it would work if Walgreens has Buy one get one 50% off and you have a BOGO coupon for it? my example is :Walgreens has the Olay body wash for Buy1 get 1 for 50% and I have the bogo coupon…
only if the BOGO has a stated price for the item.
The Target (or any competitor’s) coupon can only be used if it says a specific price on the coupon.
I thought the Beneful deal 2/$7.98 and then using the $2 off coupon was a good deal.
I have a question regarding price matching BOGO free items.
Example: CVS has Aunt Millie Bread buy one for 1.00 get one free. (I know the Walmart policy stats that the price has to be given so that is not an issue here.)
Walmart sells it for 2.00.
If I price match with CVS, will Walmart match the 1.00 price AND the BOGO free or will I buy it for the Walmart price of 2.00 and get one free basically making it the 1.00 price anyway?
I am just not certain how this works and would like to get it correct!
Thanks!
Kim
Assuming it is the exact same size and/or quantity, Walmart will will honor the BOGO. The way it is done is as a Price Match and each item is rung up at $.50
Paul,
my question is if in the CVS ad is says toothpaste is 2/$5 can I price match that at Walmart or does it need to have a specific price?
That is a specific price and will for price match.
I have a stupid question, but if you can buy it at Walgreen’s, why would you bother to have Walmart price match the ad? The only thing I can think of is if Walgreen’s is out of the item.
Dianna, I rarely go to the store for just one item. The liklihood of the other items I need being cheaper at Walgreens is slim to none. The idea is that you can get all the best prices at one store.
The cashier’s ad match policy that hangs at the registers..states that a bogo price match is done like this:
Example – Item is $2.50 and BOGO
1st item is rung up at $2.49
2nd item is rung up at $0.01
