Wow, I just read this news over on Hip2Save that the above coupon is a counterfeit. I posted a deal a few weeks ago that included this coupon. I am really sorry. If you still have ANY of these coupons destroy them.
If you have not ever taken the time to look over at the CIC, it is really interesting. It has been a while since I have looked at the coupons over there and need to make it more of a habit. Again, I am really sorry for posting anything using this coupon.

I shared the same deal w/ my friends 🙁 and the link is still live.. how is that.

I just used one today – what should I do??
Paul says
THat is a good question. It was suggested on Hip2Save to return the items. I would call your store and ask them what they want you to do?
Christie says
I went to both of the stores that I used my coupons at – but neither CVS (used on listerine) or Walgreens (used on character bandaids) would allow me to return items. Thanked me … but said nothing they could really do now.
I printed mine from coupons.com – but they did beep and have to be pushed through … I feel horrible.

I know I have this coupon. Glad I haven’t tried to use it yet. Thanks for the info.

Hi Paul,
When links are posted aren’t they from affiliates or places like Smart Source of Coupons.com? How do these counterfeit coupons even get into circulation? I’m pretty sure I had some of those as well which I would have printed from one of the couponing sites like KCL.
Thanks for the heads up.
Melissa says
Gosh this is from coupon.com I get a lot of coupons there. Should I worry about that? This is scary! I also went to the link for CIC and couldn’t believe how many coupons on on there!! I hate the thought of having to check all the coupons I plan to use. How are we to know if they are fraudulent?
Erica says
I used mine right after I printed it. 🙁 wow!! This is nuts!!

I have the same question. How would a counterfeit coupon end up on a reputable site? That is why I go there and not some independent sites that give you “pdf” style. This is something that the web site that offered it needs to make right with the manufacturer.
Laura says
These were on coupons.com?? Wow…yeah, there’s no way any of us could’ve known that was counterfeit, I’m thinking…
Darcy says
Errr…yeah…just used that at Target yesterday for some Bandaids. I don’t remember where I actually printed it, but I don’t print coupons that are in pdfs or anything – just from their original websites, coupons.com, smartsource.com or something. so….hmm.
Darcy says
and of course my Target doesn’t open til 8…I was contemplating not going this morning, since I just went yesterday…but now I guess I have a reason to do so…plus the reusable bag.
Darcy says
I just checked my Target receipt and it doesn’t show any part of the barcode next to it. My other coupons did. I’m assuming they always should? Or no?
pam says
I wouldn’t jump the gun and return stuff yet…some people are saying that the original of this coupon is good, but that someone must have illegally copied one, and used it repeatedly or something. If you put the ver-fi code in people are saying, it is still coming up as valid.
Darcy says
I did go to Target and told the Guest Services lady about it, offered to pay the difference and let her keep the printed copy from the CIC (which I didn’t even know existed until now). She wouldn’t let me pay anything and she made copies for her cashiers. I’m not sure how it will come back on them or if ever on me…but I’d rather be safe than sorry.
Jennifer says
Wow! I used this coupon last week at my local Walgreens to get character bandaids that were on sale. I thought the mixture of products on the coupon was strange myself, but I had printed it from coupons.com as well, so didn’t question it. And now I know why it kept beeping at the register, so the cashier had to call the manager over … who forced it through without question. How embarassing. I would have just taken the bandaids out of the transaction, but the manager didn’t even say anything about it to me, so I assumed there was no problem. Thanks for the update. I’m heading over to CIC now.

I’m having a hard time understanding how it could be counterfiet if it was printed off coupons.com. Isn’t is more likely that someone made a duplicate counterfiet of that coupon? I mean how smart would one have to be to also hack into coupons.com? I shouldn’t really say anythong I’m almost computer illiterate but It just sounds a little fishy.
Paul says
It was not Coupons.com… it was from bricks
Venessa says
I heard on Couponing For Disney that the original from coupons.com was legit but someone made 1000’s of copies and was selling them causing this to happen. You can go to verifi to check your coupon but as she pointed out with this on the list now even the legit won’t be taken for long probably.
rebecca says
I am guessing that i have the legit one, as mine has some of the same info ($2/2 etc… ) but the layout is A LOT different with the dollar off and the list of what is and isn’t included.
Mindy says
crap I used mine this morning. = ( what should people do about it. I know I printed it off one of the sites coupons.com or smartsource.com. I feel bad, I don’t want places to stop using internet coupons because of this = ( I went to the CIC site I don’t understand what to look for? Why do people have to do crap like this it ruins it for everyone.
Drew says
I don’t think anyone should be too worried if they used one of these coupons. If you printed it from Bricks, you’re not using a counterfeit coupon. You did the right thing and used a valid coupon. It’s the halfwit that runs CIC that is incorrectly branding all of these coupons as counterfeit.
Just because someone copied a bunch of them and redistributed them doesn’t mean that all of the legitimate ones therefore become counterfeit.
I doubt that this will ruin anything for anyone. Except, maybe folks will stop paying attention to CIC. Given what I’ve read about dealings with him, it seems like that might be a good outcome.
gracie680 says
Gee, I saw nowhere on CIC about the supposedly illegal, counterfit Physician’s Formula pdf coupon! So I guess it’s ok to continue using it.
KK @ Coupon Crocodile says
I read on another blog that the coupon that we all printed was OK and NOT counterfit. The counterfit coupons were ones that people purchased that the seller photo copied. Not sure what the real story is but that seems to make more sense as it seems odd that a Bricks coupon would not be legit.
