Paul has not been posting anything much about the fact that we are in China right now. Everyday I (Tiffany) do a little update, if you are interested you can read them HERE. On the way home from a service project we stopped at Walmart. Paul was fascinated and we had to drag him out…
The store was set up just like it would be at home. They even had Great Value Brand! We did a little video that we can post on Monday.
There were a few familiar items.
There were also a few not so familiar! This is dragon fruit, I am sure many of you have had it before but it was new to me.
The best part was all the samples, you would have thought we were at Sam’s Club! These were the ladies sampling a yogurt like drink, with lots of vitamin C. At least that is what they were telling us!
Huggies were the same price as at home. Although most of the kids in China do not wear diapers and are potty trained by the time they are about sitting up. Not joking, they are trained to go when their caretaker whistles.
The octopus was a little disturbing… but there was also eel, live fish that they kill in front of you and other things that made the kids just turn and walk away 🙂

I really like to see the way that people live, and try and imagine what it would be like for my family. Most places have stores on the bottom and apartments on the top. It is very expensive, and most people live with extended family.
I loved this guy with chickens and we made my Dad hang out the window and take his picture.

That’s how it is here in NY…stores in the bottom and apartments at the top…and VERY expensive! ughh!
My daughter lived there for awhile. We still go. It is our HEART county. I have a chinese family that the daughter calls me grandmother.
If you get to Hong Qiao, go to the 3rd floor, of the pearl market. When you walk up the steps you can walk right into Kathy’s. Tell her Kim and Stacy sent you. She is great.
