Walmart Black Friday Shopping 101- Five Tips to a Great Black Friday!
So is everyone ready for Brown Thursday and Black Friday this year? I wanted share some information and a few tips to help you have the best Black Friday Ever!!
1. Plan, Plan Plan!
- Do your homework and know what you are shopping for.
- Make sure you bring your competitor ads that you are going to price match with.
- Do not listen to the nonsense that Walmart doesn’t Price Match Black Friday Ads, it is right on the cover of the Walmart Black Friday Ad
- Know your store rules and find out from Walmart Management. No, not a CSM. The two Walmart stores closest to me are price matching online ads. I strongly advise printing these out and taking them with you, even if you have to screen shot it.
- Make sure you to stay in your budget and don’t get caught up in all the excitement.
2. LEAVE THE KIDS AT HOME!
- Kids Bring too many other emotions into Christmas Shopping.
- You want to get them what they want and you can’t always get it, it is very emotional
- They get tired and cranky
- That makes you tired and cranky
3. Get Comfy!
- I don’t mean house slippers and PJ’s. Wear comfortable supportive shoes that you can stand up in for hours.
- Bring something to sit on
- Bring Snacks and Something to Drink- Something Unleaded we don’t need beer muscles on Black Friday! 🙂
4. Bring a Friend!
- No One wants to shop alone, if you go alone find a friend there! Yes, I mean meet new people.
- Divide and Conquer- especially if you are after more than one of the HOT items
- Make sure your cell phones or walkie talkies (advised if you have them) are FULLY CHARGED
5. Be Patient!
- Times are hard and everyone wants a great deal, nothing is worth the nonsense we saw last year.
- This is not your only chance to score a great deal- I will have all kinds of hot online deals for you!
- You can fill out the Santa’s Helper Form in the side bar if you have a specific item you want me to help find for you!

Walmart Pre-Black Friday TV Deals are Better than Black Friday at Best Buy
The Walmart Prices for the Pre-Black Friday Sale are better today than Best Buy’s Black Friday TV Deals. It looks to me like Walmart has come out swinging at some of their competitors. If you are in the market for a new TV this holiday season there is no need to wait for Black Friday. I have a Samsung and the quality is amazing.

Price Matching Walmart Black Friday & Cyber Monday Online Deals
Will Walmart Price Match Online Prices?
The answer is YES, during the Holiday Season.
This is one of the questions that I get the most on I Heart the Mart. There are actually two different different ways to do this and one will be considerably easier than the other.
Walmart has just announced that for the first time it is going to let you choose the “Pay with Cash” in store option for Black friday and Cyber Monday/Cyber Week. This option is already available for everyday items and is a huge help.
This is the exact same thing as Price matching Walmart.com. If you want to pay with a debit or credit card they are also doing free shipping on most items so you might as well order it online.
I think this is a great idea for a few reasons.
- There are items you can only get online.
- If you are an envelope system, cash using family, this is awesome!
- Perfect for people who don’t use credit or debit cards.
Walmart sent out a memo that I do not have a copy of but I have confirmed with 5 different managers. Walmart is Price Matching online prices for their local competitors. What this means is that if you have a Target, Best Buy, Fry’s, etc in your area, Walmart will price match an online deal from those stores for the exact same item. This also includes Walmart.com.
For Price matching Walmart Online deals it is much easier to choose the Pay with cash option and pay for it at the store. If you can pay with a CC or Debit card there is no reason not to order it online with FREE shipping.
Price Matching the competitors should be easy for the most part, I know some people will have issues, but I am confident that most managers will now be on board!

I went in and “bought” something to see what my choices were. Sure enough, the cash option is there! Just choose cash and “site to store” to get free shipping and pick it up a few days later as if you bought it in the store!
Walmart Black Friday Ad 1 Hour Guarantee on 3 Hot Items for Brown Thursday
Walmart is clearly the best spot for Black Friday Shopping this year. One of the big reasons is the 1 Hour In Stock Guarantee on 3 hot items on Thursday November 22 from 10-11 PM. I talked about this in my Top 15 Black Friday Deals at Walmart, but it is so cool I thought it deserved it’s own post. I am also nicknaming this Brown Thursday! (Thanks Jen, Sawdust Walmart)
