Who said Easter has to be plastic buckets all the time? Every Easter pre-made baskets are filled with items that about half of them the kids don’t like. So why not make them something that you KNOW they will enjoy. Make them an Easter Basket with their favorite candy for under $12.00 total if you’re starting off with no supplies.
Supplies you will need:
- 6 Theater Box Candy $1.00 each
- 1 Nerd Ropes Candy $1.00
- 1 Glue gun or double sided tape $2.76 for glue gun
- 1 Glue Stick 10ct $0.97
- 1 Easter Grass $1.00
You can also substitute 2 of the candy boxes with a piece of small cardboard.
Step 1: Pick four Theater Candy Boxes that are similar in size. Two of them will be sides and two will be ends. Notice above the white papers along edges and sides, this is where you will need to apply glue/tape to stick the boxes together. After taping/gluing just stick together as you see on the right side of the photo above.
Step 2: To make the bottom you will need two of the theater candy boxes. Lay them flat next to each other as shown. the sides that are touching are where you will need to glue/tape. On the right side of the photo above you can see where you will need to add tape/glue to stick the Step 1 portion onto the bottom.
Step 3: Add glue/tape to the very ends of the Nerd Rope Candy and attach it on the inside of the theater candy boxes. You can then bend and mold the Nerd Rope Candy to make it look more like a handle. Then just add your Easter Grass and other items. These do hold up with quite a few items in them especially if you use double sided tape and let it sit for awhile before using it.
What makes these Candy Easter Baskets even better is most of the supplies can be found at your local grocery store or big box store like Walmart. You can use these as baskets for the bigger kids too and even use them for other holidays besides Easter. Use them to surprise your spouse with a date night and put movie tickets etc inside.
