31 Days of Halloween: Day 23 DIY Ghost Candles (Dollar Store Craft)

Ghost Candles

This is such an easy way to put up some Halloween Decor on a budget guys. What’s super fun is you can create whatever you want and if you mess up it’s as simple wipe away to start new.

Supplies

Supplies you will need:

Large Candles (we found these at Dollar Tree, $0.50-$1 each)
Black Sharpie ($1.00)
Cotton balls (optional for mistakes)
Rubbing Alcohol (optional for mistakes)

This is so easy to do I don’t think it even needs to be broken down into steps. We just googled “Ghost Faces” and checked out the images to see what we wanted to draw onto the candles. I would suggest starting with a very light mark at first so you can tell what you’re doing.

These are great to sit outside or in a window seal even. These are Dollar Tree candles so I am not sure how well they actually burn if you light them BUT you could always snip the wick and throw a small tea light candle in the top.

Here’s another great way to decorate for Halloween on a Budget OR if you are planning treats for the kids class and want something more festive super easy one the kids can even help with.

Supplies

Supplies you will need:

Tootsie Pops
Tissues (one box is more than enough)
Rubber bands (I found this in the hair tie section at Walmart-HBA)
Ribbon (optional)

There’s only two steps for this but you can pretty much see what they are in just one step:

Take a single tissue and find the middle. Then put your tootsie pop in the middle and pull the tissue around to the stick. Then attach your rubber band at the base of the sucker where it meets the stick.

Process

The Tootsie Pop Ghosts come out pretty well when using just ONE tissue per sucker, if you use more than one it starts getting bulky and doesn’t flow like a ghost look would. One tip I will suggest is when drawing faces on the ghosts make sure to be very light as the Sharpie will bleed and spread quickly on the tissue.
