Walmart announced last week that you can now trade in your tablets at Walmart or Sam’s Club Stores. The tablet trade in is very similar to the Smart Phone Trade in program that Walmart launched a few months ago. You will be able to get up to $300 for your tablet, depending on type and condition, that you can use on the purchase of a new tablet.

Starting TODAY, Walmart will sell the new iPad Air for $479! This is $20.00 cheaper than anyone else!

“Once we launched our smartphone trade-in program earlier this fall, we quickly heard from customers that they also wanted a way to trade-in and up to a newer tablet,” said Steve Bratspies, executive vice president of general merchandise for Walmart U.S. “We listened and are happy to add tablets to our trade-in program just in time for the holidays.”

The program started last week. Simply bring your working tablets to an electronics department associate in their local Walmart or Sam’s Club. The value of the tablet will be determined based on the following questions on its condition and specifications:

• Does it power on?
• Is the display fully functional and free of dead spots?
• Is the tablet and display completely free of cracks?
• What is the wireless carrier?

Once you accept the offer, the trade-in value will be applied to a new tablet of your choice. You can even get a new tablet that costs less than the trade-in value of your old tablet, the remaining balance will be put on a Walmart Gift Card.
