The Free Egg Beaters coupon will be in place of the current $1/1 Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers Coupon. Once the 50,000 Egg Beaters coupons are gone, it will switch back to the Healthy Choice coupon.

Ironically, this coupon will be hard to use at Walmart because it is for a free item!

I got this email today and thought I would give huge kudos to Mark and the rest of you that have been sharing your successes and your frustrations with us. I will preface this by saying that Marks story is an amazing one, but factually inaccurate in the age reference department as it relates to me. Other than crushing my feelings great job!

Awesome blog. Hey I am 26 year old male couponer! I am starting young, because I get a lot of wisdom from older people so thanks!

Just thought I’d give you an update on how our Walmart in Elk Grove Village, IL deals with Catalina coupons.

Here is my experience.

I went to a Walmart a town over from where I lived and tried to used my Walgreens Catalina. The cashier put it in with no problem. They scanned in, and I was happy.

I then went to the Elk Grove Village Walmart 20 minutes later and tried the exact same thing. Bought same products, and used Walgreens Catalinas. The cashier said “We can’t take these.” I just explained that they can take them, but she wouldn’t even try to scan it. I got a manager involved and they said, “Just take the coupon.” I insisted that I didn’t want the manager to just “give in.” I responded, “I just want to know what your coupon policy is so I know how to use my coupons here.”

Sure enough after we chatted for a bit, they TRIED the Catalina and guess what!? it scanned in! They were all fascinated. 🙂

However, yesterday I got a call from the assistant manager at my Elk Grove Village Walmart because a week ago I called corporate and questioned the coupon policy. The assistant manager (this is a different one than the one who worked with my the time I went to Walmart) said to me “I don’t even know what I a Catalina coupon is, or a Register reward is.” I explained what they were, and how it even says on Walmart’s coupon policy that Walmart DOES take them. Apparent the assistant manager doesn’t have to read the coupon policy.

She is going to get back to me on Friday and let me know what she finds out. I am hoping to change our couponing policy at my local Walmart. I did explain I will shop at a different Walmart if they can’t figure this out. Sure enough she said, “NO! We want you to shop here.” She also told me she thinks that “the cashiers need to be retrained.”

I see hope at my local Walmart and if we all keep pushing this, we’ll be in a better place.

I’ll keep you posted about what she tells me on Friday.

More Toy Clearance 50% off

Well the toy clearance is holding tight at 50% off. They have moved most of mine out to the garden center and added a few more things. Most of the Toy Story items are picked over. I seem to have a lot of Lego items where many of you are reporting no Lego’s at all. LOTS of How to train a Dragon toys and girls doll house things.

Price Match Trip.

My 8 year old informed me that she had a major grade volcano project due TOMORROW. Right before bed time. Nice. I made a quick trip to Wally World for the necessary supplies plus I decided to price match a few things that I thought would be a good deal. If you want to see my “How to price match” video it is HERE.

Total Before Coupon and Price Match: $41

Total After Coupons and Price Matching: $21.89

Here is a deal that I really liked, I price matched the Goldfish that were on sale at HEB for $.98. They are $1.98 at Walmart.

When I got there though, there was a peelie in the bags for $1.50 off 3 when you buy a box of the Pepperridge Farm crackers for $2.50.

That deal looked like this:

2 Boxes of Crackers $2.50 each
6 Bags of Gold Fish (price matched to HEB) $.98 each
Used 2 $1.50 off peelie
Total: $7.88

Another good deal, Randalls has the Campbells Soup 2 for $1. Use $0.40/2 Campbell’s Condensed Soup, exp. 2-15-11 (SS 12/12/10) to make it $.30 a can!

This is what I priced matched and from where:

Kroger – Lays chips $1.99, Quaker Instant Oat Meal $2.38

HEB – Gold Fish $.98

Randalls – Campbells Soup 2/$1, Cereal 5 for $10

** I know some of you have problems price matching and using a coupon on the same item. I am not sure why stores don’t allow that! That is one of the questions I have into corporate. I expect an answer probably Thursday.

$.75 Off Ball Park Franks

Go here to get a coupon for $.75 off Ball Park Lite, Turkey, Fat Free, or Lower Fat Franks. My store had the Turkey Franks for $2.48 making them $1.73 after coupon!
