You should always be able to get free Reach floss at Walmart. Thanks to reader Nikki, she found a coupon (says $1) that is $1.50 off, so free + possible money maker!

How do you get the free floss. I went to Walmart and the manager told me I couldn’t use the coupons as the price of the item was less than the coupons. They told me I could use just one of my coupons but next time I wouldn’t be able to. I told them never mind I’ll go to Target that allows me to use a coupon. The item was 97 cents and the coupon was 1 dollar.
I have never had a problem with overage. It really depends on the store although it says nothing in the coupon policy about not being able to. Can you find a different store?
I am wondering about this particular site that these coupons are found on…I went to the site and registered and then printed coupons. These are all coupons that have been found online in the last month and look ‘normal’ on the page. However, when I printed them out, they printed with different values than listed on the website. For example, the stayfree coupon says $1.00 but it printed as 2.00 and a secont time printed as .50! The Carefree also printed as 2.00 and as .50. Even the K-Y printed as .50 instead of 3.00. The tiny fine print around the outside of the coupons has a different value than on the face of the coupon (ie face of coupon says 2.00 and around the edges it says 1.00). Any insight?
But yes, now that I look at the coupon, the fine print around it does say $1.00, I haven’t used this one for $1.50 yet so which is it….$1.50 or a $1.00??! Either way it would make free floss
Yah, that’s a weird site. I got the stayfree and carefree both at 50 cents, my reach floss was for $1 but the toothbrush Q was for $1 off two – it let me print them all once, except the high value $6 off 2 motrin coupon that it let me print two times. And one coupon came out as just the outside box of tiny words – no guts to it so I don’t even know what it was for!
Very strange, but they say Smartsource on them. Hopefully they are legit!
Overage at my store just depends on the Cashier/CSM, 98% of the time they let me have my overage with no problems. I looked today and didn’t see that coupon posted, is anybody else seeing it? I’ve used coupons off of this site before with no problems!
They look normal but what caught my attention was that they printed differently from what was shown on the screen. I was organizing coupons last night and noticed that I have two smartsource printed coupons for Excedrin. One is printed at $5.00 and the other .50 and they have the same bar codes. The tiny print around the edges on both say $1.00 which is probably the correct amount.
I have a question about overage…….when you have overage doesn’t that come out of Walmart’s pocket? When they send their coupons in to the clearing house along with their register tapes the manufacturer’s are only going to pay them for what they actually collected for the coupon. So if you buy a $.97 floss and give them a $1.50 coupon if they don’t adjust the coupon down to $.97 they eat the rest of the money. That’s why a lot of cashiers won’t take coupons for over the price of the item……it seems to be that either they don’t understand that they can adjust the price down or they don’t really care and just push the coupon through costing Walmart money. I think they should require their employees to take coupon classes lol!!!
I could be totally wrong but as far as I know, they get the full amount of the coupon back. I don’t think they send the register tapes with them. When I have seen them sent out the register tapes are not with them. I agree they ALL need coupon classes!
@ Jane – This is what Target has been in the news about. When they adjust a $1 coupon down to .97 cents, they then turn in the coupon for $1. So they make 3 cents! That’s in addition to the usual 8 cents they get for handling the coupon. Search for Target coupon lawsuit and you’ll find the details.
Waiting for someone to sue Wal-Mart over this too.
Not seeing the reach floss coupon….is it gone?
